He's wrote on Twitter many times that he won't rule out a comeback.

Warnie for the third test, someone make a Facebook group immediately
In that case we may as well give Hayden and McGrath a ring.

Honestly, I would rather lose the series with a young team than bring back Dad's Army in order to try and salvage a draw.

Yeah good point, or we could play youngers and Warnie

Out - North, Katich, Doherty, Siddle/Dougie
In - Smith, D Hussey, Cameron, Johnson

Lets just asume that the waca actually lives up to its reputation, and has a bit of pace in in it.
I say to hell with it, we need 20 wickets, lets just go all out attack. 4 very quick bowlers, assuming Johnson cracks it up as high as he can, could give us a chance at skittling these poms out.

Dave Hussey can tie up an end with his offspin, in theory, and even if Smiths bowling isn't that great, legspin in Australia generally takes wickets.
Mike Hussey averages 55 opening, albeit in only 5 matches, but has handled the new ball fine so far this series. Apart from the Finn dismissal today.

But yes. Time for some gambles. No matter how it ends up, will be entertaining.

yep.

we'd be a laughing stock if any of the old farts brigade was seriously considered.

i'd prefer to see us annihilated with say a steve smith or khawaja in rather than any serious considerations of the old boys mentioned.

Hughes
Klinger (Katich back in when fit)
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Haddin
McDonald (not sure if hand is healed yet, if not, Smith)
Harris
Siddle
Bolinger

Dont need a spinner if we dont have a test worthy one. Watson down the order lets him bowl more overs and tell him to get back over 140kph. You then have 4 quicks in Bolinger, Harris, Siddle and Watson and McDonald to tie up and end and bowl stump to stump. Batting is stronger as we bat all the ay to 8.

Johnson cant be bought back, he got dropped for poor form and hasnt played any games since, not sure how he can be bought back. Siddle to survive on his 6fer in the first inning in brisbane but needs a rocket up him and bolinger hopefully better for the run in adelaide where he looked short of a gallop.

Re: 2nd Vodafone Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Adelaide Oval (FRI-TUES) [LUNCH DAY 4 - 5]

When u got a dud like North comming in at 6 what u expect. If we had a better no6 we wouldnt collapse as bad. Also Clarke going out last ball was a brain fade.

Well done - both BF whipping boys whipped in one post !

When was the last time Australia lost by a innings on our soil?

93 against the Windies
86/87 against England.

Absolutely chuffed that our hard nosed professional approch to this tour has paid dividends. England need to make it an absolute that they play 3 first class games in the lead up like they have on this tour.

As for Australia. Panicked by dropping their best spinner prior to the first test. Australia needs to understand that Warne has retired and his replacement will not be a genius. Hauritz is the best Australia have.

Hughes was dropped during the last Ashes and I reckon should be in the side. Watson has done a great job opening, but he has shown in this series that he is one of Australia's best bowlers. He should be at number 6 and Hughes should be his replacement with North gone.

Now Katich is gone, Khuwaja to open with Hughes.

Bring back Johnson as he is the best bowler Australia have. I was happy as a Pom when he was dropped as he is the one player Australia have that is a genuine match winner.

I would go

Hughes
Khuwaja
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Watson
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

England - straight swap, Broad for Tremlett. He will be a handful at Perth.

thats the same bowling attack minus Doherty, even the selectors wouldn't do that.

we cannot rely on watto as too much of a bowler due to his injury concerns.

i don't want to stuff one of our few in form-ish batsmen and potentially have both openers out ALL summer.

For me it's

Katich - Hughes
North - Marsh (Has been VERY good this year and proved he can play the WACA)
Doherty - Hauritz (bowled well on the WACA last game)
Siddle/Dougie - Johnson (Still has the X-Factor I think we need at the WACA)

Marsh in my opinion could come in and open for Australia. His form has been outstanding and very consistent in a team that has struggled. It is time for him to be given the chance at the top level.

Watson
A B de Villiers
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Hahim Amla
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Siddle
Dale Steyn

If the POMS are allowed to have 3 ring in South Africans then so can we ;)

Hughes time for fresh blood
Marsh ditto
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Watson down the order - less pressure
Haddin
North who is bowling better spin?
Harris
Siddle
Hilfenhaus
