TIME TO RELEASE THE BEAR!!!1!

Reckon we've ran out of excuses not to now, and what an opportunity. To come into a side that's playing a really good brand of footy with a system that's so far holding up quite well... I doubt it'll do any harm to his development.

In fact, with others around him capable of a hard ball get I reckon it'll do him favours.

It's bear time.

It just crazy that he was getting rubs and doing run throughs just after it happened, and now they're possibly talking about a season-ending injury!

Whoever that useless, no-name piece of navy blue trash was that pushed Treloar in the back - and there was no free, if memory serves, just play on - i hope he feels like an even bigger piece of useless crap than he did before the game. Treloar is one of the best players in the league - the Carlton scum isn't worthy to lick his back sweat, let alone shove him in the back.

How did he go in the VFL game? Still in good form?

Don’t know what it is but injuries don’t make me sweat like they did years ago
Just got to put the next person in line in
Great opportunity for Sier and or Wills to cement a possie

He looks like a good in and under mid with no pace. I may be wrong but he doesn't seem to be a replacement for Treloar.

I wish I shared your optimistic outlook. Come September on a sunny afternoon at the MCG we would be in desperate need of someone who can break the lines and split packs open with pace and strength. Only a rare few players have this capacity and we just lost one.

No replacement for Treloar. Degoey in the middle and Elliot back (if he can get fit)will help somewhat, although will miss his run and carry. Pendles, Sidey, Adams, Degoey with Phillips on the wing is still a formidable group.

Ok, what we know for this week.
A pragmatic view.

First rule: Don’t panic.
Second rule: see First Rule.

We now know Treloar will be out, we know Greenwood is concussion line ball.

Hence seems two players out, meaning two in.

Sugggest we don’t drop any player as two changes made already.
(Daicos is vulnerable if there is a dropping I’d suggest, but likely gets a reprieve.)

In: Sier, Crocker

Out: Treloar, Greenwood (both injured)

New: Sier.

Emergencies: Wills, McLarty, Brown, Oxley

The most logical reason I can see Crocker come in is he brings that spirit and verve in. And we’re a bit short on players.

Sier surely is due. Bear releasing fun aside, he’s earnt a spot.

Not sure we’ll do this but maybe they’ll even pop the two big boys in Sier and Wills and give that a big spin?

I feel as if Mihocek plays that Crocker role. I would rather bring in C. Brown and have DeGoey inthe guts for longer - with Sidebottom as well.

Apologies for the stupid question, but I don't follow the VFL as closely as others here. Sier to me looks to be a big-bodied mid in the same vein as De Goey rather than the run and dash mid of Treloar's style. Is this an accurate representation?

Does Sier have an ability to rotate into the forward line like De Goey does or is he a pure mid?

the only player we have fit that can match Treloars run and dash is Murray and i dont think he has ever played in the midfield

Obviously it’s a wait and see period as fans, but this smells of fake news to me. We all remember the limp Fagan had while attending Gil’s get together post QB once he’d cooled down. Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve read Treloar didn’t appear impeded at all when getting scans.
He was walking rather gingerly on the news tonight. Hope you are right though.

Sure you can. Changing roles is just one choice the coaches can make.

Crisp's form has been good and Phillips prior to the last 2 games has had a much improved season to date. Wouldn't change their roles and risk impacting their confidence or continuity. Need to find another option in the middle and De-Goey is probably the most suitable for the role. Should be able to cover him up forward, but instead of a 50/50 split he could play 60/40 or 70/30 mid/fwd.

Gold Coast is not. Danger game... they are the worst team going around atm. If we played they way we did against Carlton we would win by 5 goals. The Essendon game tho is a danger game!!! Trelor a big lose but I believe we can still cover him with degoey playing midfield the whole game. I would make 1 change and thT would be

In Seir
Out Trelor

If we lose Grundy to injury then we a in big trouble
