Now players are coming back, we can rest Burton (who mentioned he would be having a rest once we got some depth).

Stiffy & Reilly as 1st choice players should come straight in. Porps via Westies (put pressure on Douglas).

IMO, our structure is better with Bock at CHB, so Kenny in for Stevens.

INS: McGregor, Reilly, Johncock
OUT: Stevens, Burton (inj), Vince

F: Welsh, McGregor, Edwards
HF: Johncock, Perrie, Douglas
C: Reilly, Goodwin, Knights
HB: van Berlo, Bock, McLeod
B: Bassett, Rutten, Torney
R: Hudson, Shirley, Thompson
I: Griffin, Doughty, Mattner, Jericho
I agree with your ins/outs and positions except for Kenny. I think Kenny is better suited at CHB. I am fairly sure he has said before he prefers CHB to CHF, but he also appears to play more consistently there.

The question though is - is his form good enought to warrant a recall?

The only possible reason Kenny would play is on form. He hasnt shown any for months = SANFL

Besides, Stevo ( apart from his worst game last week ) hasnt done too much wrong since August last year.

Kenny would need pictures to get a game.

In Porplyzia Reilly Johncock McGregor

Outs Vince Jericho Douglas Burton

Youngsters need a rest as does Burton and Jericho is squeezed out for strucutral reasons as I think we need Kenny in so that Stevens can play forward where he plays his best footy for mine.

In: Reilly, Porplyzia, Johncock*

Out: Jericho, Vince, Douglas*

*If ok to come in.

Reilly if fit to me is always an automatic selection. I love the way he plays, very skilful and very important to the Crows outfit. Jericho can come out for Reilly. I don't feel he has added that much to the side over the last two weeks. Been respectable but just does not demand a spot in the side for mine. I feel unfortunately his time is up and really wish the Crows had just moved him on at the end of last year.

Porplyzia can come in for Vince. I like Vince a lot but has looked a little slow and uncomfortable for the last few weeks. Porps is a very skilful, talented player who again i feel is very important to Adelaide. If we can get him fit and running around like he was at the end of last year he will be vital to any aspirations Adelaide has in the finals. Vince is still one I like a lot. A bit of a run in the SANFL and get a bit of confidence in him and I think he'll be right. Looks like one of those players who just wants to show his flair and I look forward to soon seeing him become a regular in the side. Probably next year though I would think.

If Johncock is fit and ready to go he must come straight in. Been a player we have been missing a lot and he just has that class wherever he is on the ground. Knows how and when to use it and would be an automatic selection in any side in the league. Dropping Douglas is the hardest decision. This kid looks very, very good to me. Hasn't done anything wrong for mine but couldn't see who else to push out. Doughty was an option but Dogga is more experienced and feel will more consistently get the job done and if was tight at the end of the game would feel a bit safer with Doughty in the side. Douglas is not very far away form being an absolute regular though and has impressed me a hell of a lot when ever he has been in the side.

Obviously we need to try and get Ken McGregor in the side at some poin t soon. I feel he has a lot of value that is being wasted in the SANFL. The only problem is no talls have done anything wrong to be dropped. Bock cannot be dropped, Perrie is extremely important to our structure and he must be in and firing for the Crows to be at their best, Welsh isn't actually so much a 'tall' and is invaluable when he turns it on. That leaves Scott Stevens. Has done his job every week so far and would be very hard done by to be droped. It's a hard one because I very much want to see Kenny in the side but Stevo just hasn't done anything wrong. Interesting one for Neil to deal with over the coming weeks because we need to get Ken into the side and who Neil takes out to put him in the side will be very interesting.

Obviously Brett Burton still looks like he needs a rest but for know while they say he is fit to play he is in our best side. He is a freak and can turn it on at any point and that is something pretty handy to have in the side, matchwinners. If his knees are causing him as much trouble as we all think they are, he should be rested, we need all our players fit and firing. And although it sounds ridiculous going into round 9 we need to start getting all players up to fitness for finals. We have seen over the last two seasons us shooting ourselves in the foot so lets get it right this year and give the flag a real shake. We still have the list to do it, we jus need everyone on the park playing to their best. Come on Crowies.

IN: Reilly, McGregor, Johncock
OUT: Vince, Burton, Douglas

INs
Reilly was in the best form of his career before being injured. He is an automatic inclusion.

McGregor is a direct replacement for Burton in the forward line. He's had 3 weeks in the SANFL and should now be sufficiently match fit to be brought into the senior side. The inclusion of an extra tall would enable Craig to finally play a decent tall (Bock or Stevens) at CHB, rather than relying on Mattner to fill this role. Finally, we'd have enough talls in the side to have some flexibility in our structure. Whether McGregor remains in the side once Burton regains fitness is doubtful, but would be dependent upon form (and new injuries).

Johncock is an automatic inclusion - if he is ready to go.

OUTs
Vince: Has been somewhat disappointing this year and hasn't really looked like he belongs at the highest level. However, it's worth remembering that he's still only played 10 games of AFL footy, that this is only his second year on the list, and that he was coming from way behind the 8-ball in his first season after playing country footy early in 2005. Don't write him off yet, but it IS time for him to go back to the SANFL for a while.

Burton: One of our most important players when fit, but has been seriously struggling with injury for the last month and is currently giving us nothing. Desperately needs to be given the chance to rest his knee, so that he can return to full fitness for the second half of the year.

Douglas: The kid is all class, but he's suffered from being thrown all over the park - playing in every position except that for which he is most suited (the midfield). Was outstanding in the Mickey Mouse stuff, when given a midfield role, but has been disappointing once premiership points were up for grabs. He's still an outstanding prospect and one of our most talented youngsters, but for now it is time for him to go back to the SANFL.

Next cabs off the rank...
IN: Porplyzia
OUT: Jericho

Porps probably needs a run in the SANFL before being elevated back into the senior lineup.

Jericho is still the soft dud, who seems to be afraid of his own shadow. However, right now he needs to be given at least one more game - natural justice needs to be seen to be served. He needs to be given enough rope to properly hang himself so we can justify delisting him at the end of the year. Dougie & Vince are better long term prospects, but right now they are more in need of a run in the SANFL, so Jericho survives until Porps is ready to return to senior action.

These are the four changes which need to be made - both in terms of INs and OUTs. However, for the sake of team stability I would suggest that it is unlikely for more than 3 changes to be made - unless the selectors hands are forced by injuries.

For those suggesting that Porplyzia, Reilly and Johncock will all come in at once, I think you are kidding yourselves a bit. Craig will not bring in 3 players who have missed a 4+ weeks of footy all at once. He would bring in Johncock as a walk up start and so he should. I think he would also bring in Reilly. McGregor is a chance but I think only 2 changes this week

IN: Reilly, Johncock
OUT: Vince, Douglas

If Craig goes this way I would suspect Reilly will start on the bench and be a rotating midfielder, playing about half a game. In Johncock's case, I wouldn't be surprised if he is played in the forward line as a crumber and be rotated on and off the ground. When he gets his match fitness up, he would return to the back line.

As much as I would love to see Burton rested, I don't think Craig will do that. But if he did, I would bring in McGregor for him.

Same as you Stiffy for the Ins

Vince and Jericho for the Outs

Cant see it being this week FP but it does need to be soon, just to show us what we all think he can do.

Your on the money with those comments ........Johncock came in last year with no SANFL footy behind him ......Reilly I suspect is capable of coming straight back in

Two injured players returning in one week I'd suggest is enough.

Kenny ......well he needs an opportunity or an injury ......he'll have to bide his time

Porplyzia ...not a naturally fit guy ...will have to and should come back via 1-2 SANFL games

Pfeiffer has hardly been lighting up the SANFL though. No surprise to see you list 3 Norwood guys.

You'd hardly say Griffin on past performances has ever actually been a star in the SANFL either.
IMO sometimes you just have to give a kid a go. I think we all know Pfieffer is an AFL footballer, its just a matter of when.

I for one would love to see this. I am very disappointed that with all of the injury troubles we've had Pfieffer is yet to show us what hes got.
Yes you would think a kid who knows a string of good games will get him an AFL berth would be putting up better ''pick me'' numbers

There are a million Pfeiffers, theres only one Jonno Griffin :p

In: Johncock, Reilly, McGregor
Out: Vince, Burton, Jericho

Vince will be a good player, but does not demand a spot at this stage. Burton needs a rest - a fit Burton is one of the best players in the side and they need to give him a chance to get over his injury by resting him for a couple of weeks. Jericho is not up to standard. Soft and selfish are two words that come to mind when I watch him play. Let him finish his career at The Parade.

Massie, Porplyzia, Maric, Ricciuto all not far away which is a good sign heading into the middle of the season.

Yeah but he got a game because there was nobody else, Maric and Meesen were both injured and we needed another ruckman. I know Pfeiffer can play the game but we can't just give him a game for the sake of it with players coming back in. If he didn't go out and get his cheek broken then I bet he would have played a game by now.
