I don't care if it was his first game back, 3 touches is awful. Not entirely his fault, as this whole rushing injured players back is getting a bit much. But if you play, there are no excuses.

Out: Suban, Griffin
In: Hinkley/Pearce, Bradley

Wouldn't drop Mzungu in a million years.

Mayne needs to be dropped and given time to heal properly, he's bordering on useless out there at the moment. Shouldn't have dropped that mark in the goalsquare in the 4th. Constantly off in the rooms getting treatment. Just let the prick have a week off, seriously.

Just our luck to be running info the Hawks with all of its stars back and up and firing. This game is do or die.

In - Sandilands (if Griffen is injured), Faulks (if McPharlin suspended), Keplar, Hinkley or Mellington
Out - Griffen (if injured), McPharlin (if suspended), Roberton and anyone else who underperformed.

Suban is a tough one. Clearly not near match fit, well not for this type of intensity. Maybe sub next week.

Roberton did some real spud things but a couple of good things too. I just think he is a bit immature in decision-making at this stage. I think he has good potential but perhaps a bit green for the role we need of him atm.Think Faulks would be worth a shot as should have more maturity.

Oh yeh and Mzungu was good today. Talk of dropping him? Kind of weird really - maybe if he has banged your gf

Love mayne and his work rate but he is seen as a target up forward and he keeps wasting oppertunities. I'd give him a rest or at least make him the sub next week

Mayne drives me crazy, never has a really good day but is hard to drop. However he just doesn't do enough. We need players that can kick goals. To play Suban was a very bad decision and Mcphee made some idiotic mistakes. Playing Mcphee in the midfield in the first quarter was a dumb thing to do aswell considering it is his second game back from 8 weeks off and he sucks in the midfield.

Agree on Chris Mayne he's one of those players that I don't think is anywhere near realising his ability, yet he's just good enough that he's certainly in the best 22 each week..

Mellington could be a consideration. And If had my way Pearce would be in the team over players like Crowley and Mcphee.

I think we need to go back to our youth policy that made us deadly last year. Start getting games into Chrichton or Pitt.

What's your dislike of Muzungu? Every chance you get you give him heaps.
He shut down Embley and did OK himself, most commentaters and supporters would rate him in our top 6 players today.
Embley is a very enigmatic player though, so he will have his off days no matter who he plays on. Mzungu for all his good work, completely undid it with some terrible things. Such as simple OOF kicks etc, hospital handpasses and kicks.

The problem is Harves thinks he's a key forward when clearly he's not. He's a flanker and a very useful one, but he's not great one on one and given the amount of times we bomb it long in hope, he's practically useless.

Case in point as to why Mitch Clark would be very handy.

I didn't even think Roberton was that bad as he did well in some critical defensive situations. Thought Mzungu was alright as well.

Presuming Griffin is injured, I hope Sandilands is ready to come back in. Would like to see Kepler back in the team as well. Hoping that McPharlin is right with the tribunal as Buddy awaits. If not, Faulks might come into the side?

You know who would have been handier? Jack Darling. Would have certainly cost less than Clark will.

But no, Pitt is doing well getting 15 or so possies in the WAFL. I hope we pick up more softish flankers this draft.

Wonder how Brad Sheppard is travelling for the boys down the road? Who did we snatch up after the Eagles in that draft again?

Yeah because Jack Darling is a superstar of the AFL... One has played more AFL because he was AFL ready 2 years ago. Both have a long way to go in their careers and both have proven that they are capable at the AFL level without being outstanding. There is a giant myth about Darling and it really peeves me off the way commentators and some idiots talk about him as if he is playing like Pavlich.

If we really want to go on about it, it should be taking Joel Houghton ahead of Sam Reid. But again this thread is about the Hawks game.

I think Griff has a hip injury and not a groin so might come up. As has been stated McPharlin is the worry, he goes we are in big trouble against Franklin. Faulks big ask.

Crowley did his job so maybe he goes again on to Sewell or Mitchell?

Duffield should get the chop this week. Bring Palmer back in.

Perhaps Anthony or Keps up forward?

What does that matter? We should always aim to be the best.

Nevertheless, playing Pavlich through the middle shows how dumb our coaching staff are. If he was up forward we wouldn't even have to worry about our forward deficiencies.
