no he's not.
Yeah he’s a hard worker and gets a quiet team chirping. To be an AFL player you’ve gotta be good and find your niche. He’s finding it here right now.

I think my only disappointment is that the ins and outs are consistently rotating the youth.

But I get it to an extent, and we shouldn't forget how young and inexperienced our side is, even with this approach. It is unmistakably a rebuilding squad.

his handballing under pressure is trash. also cant kick to save his life. he misses so many shots on goal.

His hands under pressure, as in not fumbling - is elite.

Kicking at times could do with tidying up thats about it.

as soon as we draft elite mids he's gone.

schoenberg
pedlar
berry
pick 3/4 this year
first rounder of next year

that is our future midfield. goodbye keays.

25k crowd allowed for the game (about all we have been getting anyway) and tickets on sale tomorrow

You are exaggerating to prove a point.
He does errantly kick on occasions and miss shots on goal. As do other good AFL players. He’s just the bad AFL player in that mix huh.

Oh shit, it's Thursday? When did that happen?

Pedlar is a ****ing fantastic inclusion in this situation. McAdam getting the axe is probably justified. Fogarty for Frampton is just deck chairs on the titanic. I'm pretty upfront I don't think either has a future at this level, but you at least have a chance Fog might fluke into something. Hamill being dropped and not Mackay is just baffling. Sure, hasn't set the world on fire, but I'd rather see a 20 year old get game time then an equally mediocre 32 year old. We must be shit scared of doing anything the AFL considers tanking.

You never played with two fingers strapped? Minimal discomfort and you get an actions first guy to lead.
yeah, but theres just no ****in point to it.. if we were finals contenders it might be different.

so, what, he plays the rest of the season then goes into surgery come seasons end and all that achieves is him having a reduced pre-season going into next year. why would they think this is an even remotely good idea?

get it done now, give his games to Pedlar for the rest of the season and have sloaney ready and raring to go come the start of the preseason.

just so ****in dumb of this club. and i suspect it has just as much to do with their “must have as many of our older players on the park as possible” policy than it does with the “sloaney’s our hero, he’ll play through any pain” dumb****ery..

wouldnt make any other midfield. he's lucky we're sh*t.
Melbourne and Geelong say hi. You’re are completely discounting his work.
Basically you’re chucking in throw away lines on an honest grafter that would probably be welcome in Richmond right now.

melbourne is full of elite mids. what are you talking about?
geelong? na, they dont need him.

Makes no sense. He's happy to risk not being able to use his finger properly in the future so he can lead us to 15th. It's ridiculous. The club shouldn't allow this stupidity.

I do wonder if he makes that decision if he's 24.

I reckon it's more he knows the end is near, and wants to hold on for as long as possible.

I’m pretty sure a little tendon on the tip of the finger isn’t the end of the world.
It’s his call. Good call IMO.

Unless Keays drops off performance wise, he'll be a 100-200 game player here. Can almost take it to the bank.

After all, what inevitably happens is they take over the midfield and most of its rotations, Keays will end up getting shunted towards the half forward flank and a 7-9th midfielder kind of role. Or in whatever other hole that ends up in our side.

Pedlar needs a ‘club favourite’ nickname. Like Roo, Tex or Truck. I’ve only ruled out Pedo so far. Thoughts?

Now thats a load of rubbish.

Keays is a really good player.
nup..

keays is a bloke that gives his all. gets a lot of football. is a bloody great scrapper.

but has limited skills, and yes, will eventually make way in the middle for guys like Pedlar, Shoenberg, Berry and the elite mids we hopefully draft/trade in over the next two to three years.

i love the guy.. he just gives everything but his disposal is woeful and I just think thats him.. it wont change.

Sloane will be gone, crouch will hopefully take up FA... we need to build the midfield for the future around Laird and put some really good ball users around him. if keays is still in our midfield in 2/3 years from now we’ll be destined for failure.

and geez i also hope we’re all over both Dawson and Stephens from sydney... would love both of them to be added into the mix and that would push keays even further out. although I see dawson as more HB brodie smith type mid who can also go forward and kick goals.. his raking left foot is elite. he’s a beauty.

edit: also forgot to mention young Cook.. was injured.. has finally played a few sanfl games.. took a couple of games to get into it but geez, i reacon he’s got it. just looks a really smart skillful player.
we’re gonna have to find spots for all these players eventually so something (keays unfortunately I think) will have to give way..

It just shows ****ing hard work pays off. He will get that secondary bounce rotation sooner or later but right now he’s driving a performance standard and big ups to him for it.

His only real issue for mine is because he utterly has no right foot, he'll look to spin to get it so he can kick on his left, but this means he sometimes misses the first open handball chance because he wants to open up the option to kick it if he has to.

Good to see Murray play. I think I might be one of the few who thinks he has a future. Attacks the contest with gusto and can spoil well and mark in contested situations. Is not slow.
Thumping kick too

Roosted a couple at Unley a few weeks ago

Selfish and stupid from the skipper. Insanity from the club.
His brother said he'd give anything to play just one AFL game though and he runs the show

I wonder how many people Rory asked until he got the advice he wanted?

The whinging about Mackay has become more tiring than Mackay not being dropped.

I get that Fog has been average but he has still kicked a couple of snags a game. That should still be worth something. Not sure how Rowe gets a free pass every week when he can't do that.

Anyway, my main gripe is that McPherson is the least inspiring medisub we could have selected. At what point do we really need a ball butcher to come on and inject themselves into the game. Literally any of the other three would have been more of a chance.
