Preview Changes: R16 vs Brisbane Bullets

Saturday’s Round 16 fixture between the Adelaide Crows and Brisbane Lions will now go ahead at Adelaide Oval in front of a revised maximum crowd of 25,000.

This follows extensive consultation between Adelaide Oval, SA Health, the State Government, and Adelaide Football Club.

A maximum of 22,500 patrons will be located throughout the stadium in addition to 2,500 corporate tickets.

The Adelaide Football Club and Adelaide Oval Football Membership Team will issue instructions to members regarding ticket downloads.

“We are very pleased to have the Crows and Lions playing in front of an Adelaide Oval crowd, albeit with a reduced capacity,” said Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority COO Adam Vonthethoff.

“There has been an enormous amount of work put in behind the scenes to enable this game to go ahead and we look forward to welcoming fans on Saturday afternoon.”

Some minor changes have been made to Adelaide Oval’s COVID Management Plan including:

• The pods on the Northern Mound will revert to one person per 2sqm with a maximum of 1125 patrons across four pods; and
• Indoor capacities will revert to 1 person per 2sqm and all indoor patrons must be seated for food and beverage consumption.

As with last weekend, the two front rows within the stadium will be kept free, as will a two-seat buffer around the player races.

Unfortunately, the Don McSweeney Aboriginal Lands Cup Curtain Raiser has had to be cancelled; this has resulted in a change to opening times for gates and car parks:

• 1.30pm Car parks open
• 2.30pm Gates open
• 4.05pm First bounce

Patrons are reminded that it is a mandatory requirement from SA Health for patrons to wear a mask as they enter, move around the stadium and as they leave.

Have no idea the logic behind Sloane. No problem with Hamill being dropped but I don’t think Murray has it. I would like to see Davis given one last crack in defence before they delist him.

Not bad changes, really happy to see Pedlar come in. Fogarty and McAdam have been useless the last few weeks so I'm ok with them dropping out. Didn't think Hamil had been as bad as others so a bit disappointed to see him drop out.

Although I don't think Frampton has a long term future in the AFL, I'm ok with him being rewarded for his strong SANFL form, it doesn't send a great message to leave him in the 2s when he is in good form and you have 2 guys in the AFL side stinking it up. So happy to see him get rewarded for that. Hopefully it is only a temporary swap and we see Fog come back in to the side after a couple of weeks and start to get involved more.

oh look, absolutely no doubt about what he’s currently providing.. i just cant see him as a longer term piece in the puzzle with the young guys coming through and the elite talent we will probably pick up over the next 1,2,3 years..

something will have to give.

You don't want, or need elite talent in every position (we do exist in world with salary caps).

He'll be around, as said, what happens in this situation is his midfield minutes get whittled down in the next couple of years, and Keays just settles into whatever hole we have in our best 22. Likely as a rotation half forward/midfielder/hatchet man.
