I am against O'Meara coming back in though - our midfield looks much more dynamic and agile.
There will be some interesting calls made if JOM, NOD, Fyfe, Darcy are all ready to play 100%, to see what JL does with the midfield.

I personally want Wagner, Erasmus picked before all the mids except NOD.
--Until young is back
Brayshaw, Serong, NOD, Erasmus and Wagner are first picked.
I think Sharp holds his spot, as he plays a role few can.
Then we have 2 spots left in the midfield (leaving Bolton and Reid in the forward line)

Assuming they play Darcy (as expected), then there is only one spot left , plus 1 more as the sub. (Fyfe and Banfield maybe)

Some Tracker stats for those interested.
Distance covered: Sharpe 16.4K, Serong 15.5K no. 2 and 3 on ground.
Maximum Speed : Bolton 33.1K/hr, Reid 32.4 K/ hr Ranked 1 and 3.
Sprints: Frederick 23, Sharpe 23. Ranked equal 3rd on ground
Repeat sprints: Frederick 6.Equal 1st with Rioli an Noble
Barely any difference in total distance covered Suns 290Km, Freo 288Km and in total sprints 275 Suns 268 Freo.

I think the fact that Treacy and Voss put on so much pressure, they're not playing like traditional talls, so it's like we have 1 less tall in the team.
I also don’t think that Voss can play the role Amiss takes, pushing up the ground as a distributor. But it works the other way too; Voss brings great pressure

i think we could carry Darcy at around 50% TOG this week partly because Dudley wasn’t playing.

With Darcy and Dudley both in the 23, it would start to impact our TOG for other players a bit.
Let's face it, we can't leave players out, we are just going to have to field a 26 man team, the other clubs are just going to have to suck it up.

Does anyone else not think Jackson is such a weapon in the ruck that you don’t want his ruck time to go down? It’s like robbing Peter to pay Paul… I don’t mind Jacko in the mids, but the squeeze is on… When young comes back can you still play Jacko on ball?
Do think we will be trading a v decent or v good quality player - most likely a mid - end of this season. We have too many good to v good mids and mids-as-a-second string and need half backs and tall backs starting to come thru. Young moving back given simpson out for the season a possibility?

You forgot Johnson.

Brayshaw, Serong, Johnson, Erasmus, Wagner, NOD, Sharp is my preferred 7.

Until Young available. Though personally I’m bringing him into the back line after that hamstring.

If we play Darcy, then there is no room for Fyfe, JOM, etc etc in the 22.

Then if Young comes back, we will have real midfield squeeze for spots.

I hope whatever they do, they don't shoehorn another tall down back again if Worner doesn't get up
Is Davies a tall at 1.96cm? There’s no one left to choose from. Draper and Davies can’t play in the same team

Obvious choice is Aish for Worner. Had the opportunity on the weekend to replace Simpson with Aish but coaches went a different path

Yeah no point for it except merch sales.

That is clearly the main point, but we are playing a team with a lot of white in their kit and the less white in ours the better. Plus black is just that bit darker than our purple and will be a better contrast against royal blue.

I am sick of seeing these dog's breakfast games where there is an overlap in colours between the teams playing. The spectacle was so nice for red versus purple, but then the GWS v Richmond game starts and there's colours mixed up everywhere with yellow v orange and charcoal v black and white for both. Or you've got black+red versus maroon from the Essendon v Brisbane game.

Other clubs should be making more of these "gimmick" jerseys to create the biggest contrast possible in every game. The AFL is clearly incompetent when it comes to governing clashes, so it is up to the clubs.

Rucks these days hardly win outright nor get clear taps to advantage. Maybe Gawn this season but Melbourne still aren’t dominating with him. I mean Xerri battles hard for his taps, yet opposition learn to shark his taps.

So if Darcy battles the Xerris, Witts, etc and allow Jackson not get smashed is a massive win.

Also would love to see Jackson stay midfield then immediately go half forward. Who is manning him? Can’t have the half backs that usually defend those mids that go forward after the clearances. It’ll have to be a key defender. Suddenly that brings so many mismatches.

On the weekend Jackson took marks on the wing opposed Noah Anderson who is 192cm. Easy mismatch

The unicorn in action.

Young back in defence just before finals is going to be incredible. He is a great intercept mark and then to have him firing missiles down the corridor will result in so many more scores.

Wagner isn't coming out for anyone he's too flexible and good at his roles.
