Despite the club advertising a training session for last Friday I take it that this didn’t happen.
Things seem to have gone eerily quiet since the Suns game. I’m getting the same sort of vibe as I had in the lead up to the Geelong fiasco.

Yep they've ****ed it up. People aren't going to pay full price to watch Norf. Should have been set at Melbourne prices for this game, i.e $25 for most seats, $50 family tickets. Not only would you have sold a lot more tickets, you would have got a lot of people going that don't normally go to a game.

Looking at the ticketmaster seat map, they're going to need a big surge in sales just to reach 20k.

The tickets do not appear to be full price. I bought my regular seat for $70 in Februrary. Set and forget. Now the equivalent is being sold for $85 versus North, and $129 versus Essendon. But agree they could have been discounted much more. I don't really care if they drop the price further so someone could buy seats for a fraction of what I paid, but plenty of others would be annoyed.

Completely agree on the different type of people you could get to the game ... you'd get a lot going who normally couldn't afford it and they'd be super excited and rowdy.

I think they'll be lucky to get 20k to the game. North's performance over the years is compounded by their showing the other day. I know hardcore North supporters who live in Perth and usually buy tickets for their normal away games, and they aren't going to the game this time. With the costs involved for staging something at Optus, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bunbury game was more profitable (but I don't know what tickets cost for that match).

If I check the seat map around me, my block 143 doesn't have a huge amount of seats left, but 140-142 and 144-147 have huge chunks of available seats. Whereas there are only scattered single seats in this area for the Essendon game. Looks like the member takeup of their regular seat has been fairly poor.

I reckon they've blundered with the pricing, they've basically kept it the same as any other Freo game, the lowest tix are $4 cheaper but the other tiers seem just as expensive

The tickets I picked up for this game were under $80 total for all of them, but I bought them a long time ago. We spend more than that on food and drink at the game.

They should have priced it to fill the stadium.
For one ticket top tier, $42, Im goin to the pub.

Hey mods, can we change the title to this thread to Round 14 Norf v Freo attendance estimates??
Surprised norf made it past the swear filter tbh.

Selection integrity may go a long way as to whether Ras signs on with Freo or requests a trade; I’d be livid if he comes straight out for JOM given Neil’s strong form.

As others have already said on here, we can’t have 5 Shai Boltons running through the middle, we need the grit from guys like Erasmus to feed it out to the dynamic ball users. See Ned Long at Collingwood or James Peatling at Adelaide.

Tough to drop anyone on form, and with Moose another week away, I hope the team goes in unchanged. Wouldn’t hate Dudley coming straight back in, just don’t know who for.

I would like Fyfe to remain sub. I think he would get exposed playing 4 quarters and is better utilised as a shock player. Hopefully, JOM is sent to Peel to get some fitness before he is even considered for a call-up. Ras should be prioritised for the reasons you have mentioned above. JLo has made some good selection calls the past few weeks, lets hope he continues and doesn't revert to the conservative nonsense.

You’re right, selection integrity is very important. I’d expect all of our players to agree with you on that including Ras.

That might mean he comes out for reasons you and I don’t fully understand. As long as he does that’s what matters.

That said I don’t expect JOM or others to come straight in this week. When JOM is fit he is most likely ahead of Ras though.

I'm in two minds regarding which way the selection committee will go, either:

1. Minimal change. Keep same team against gold coast or bring Dudley in and leave Darcy out

2. Bring in JOM. Don't think they will have all Walters, jom and Fyfe in same team at this stage being underdone, so it's possible they won't bring Walters in. However, with the oppo not being high quality they may feel it would be good time as any to get a game into them

Also, selecting a player because you think they might leave at the end of the season if you don’t is kind of the opposite of selection integrity.

It's a bit of list management too. We can see the difference in trade value between Sharp and Henry in regards to which got a game and which didn't.

If Erasmus is leaving end of the season we want him to play enough games that we can say; "come on, he's a best twenty two player former top ten pick that's been developed for years, give us your second round pick"

Unwise to disrespect the opposition by bringing in even more elderly slow players. Already having Fyfe and Darcy in the 23 is at least one too many. We got lucky last week with Worner only missing the last quarter. Even then a lot of players looked knackered half way in the last.
