Unofficial Preview Changes round 14 vs Adelaide

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

The next two games (Adelaide & St. Kilda) are absolute must wins if we want to challenge for the top 4. If we win tomorrow night then we move to third position (noting we'll have played more games).

On the contrary, if we drop tomorrow night then there are multiple teams who will leapfrog us with a game in hand and we'll be back fighting it out for 8th & 9th spot.
Need to win the next two absolutely to go 10-5 and hopefully gain a bit of %

any chance of a libba injection tomorrow night?
Nope. Bevo already ruled him out.

Saints looking likely.

Think we’ll approach next 2-3 weeks with an eye to the run home. Maximize bye to rest a couple with niggles etc.

Just Luke Kennedy in for McNeil then as official change.

Makes sense If Libba not back in for Treloar I guess and gives him another week to show how he is covering the ground and moving etc, but that would probably still be my next change for the Saints game the following week.

We shouldn’t expect a prodigious number of tackles out of Meow tomorrow.

If he can make 6 in his debut game (probably on reduced minutes) he will have done well. That’s assuming he gets a few possessions as well.

Six tackles is around double the AFL average IINM.

Whatever he does I wish him well. I hope I’m not reading “delist” from some of the more impatient types tomorrow night.

I'm surprised Bevo hasn't just forfeited seeing that 'The Glue' is out. He'll just have to put pressure on some of the lesser lights like Bont and Richards to pick up the slack.

Team seems fine. Only question was whether they try and get Buss back in. Think Buss is still behind Buku and JOD and Coffield's form warrants a spot

I still think we need to try and get Buss AFL games where we can but that might need to wait until Coffield loses form or injury opens up a spot

Anything less than setting the record for tackles in a debut game (currently 14 set by ****ing Jai Newcombe of course) and I’m gonna melt I’m afraid.

Can someone melt about selection already

This is way too peaceful and we all know how that usually turns out
It’s got all the hallmarks of a Carlton style performance. We’ve been up for a few weeks now, the inevitable doggy cliff is just around the corner

Something those who criticise him need to remember

Well done young man keep it up can’t wait for the next 50
I think 99% of the criticism is because he has set himself such high standards.

He definitely has a concentration issue when the ball is arriving at him. Some of the marks and handball receives he’s dropped are quite ridiculous.

All very fixable, of course, and we have a great player on our hands.

You’ve just explained my point he’s a kid he makes some silly mistakes not because of ability because he loses concentration like most young players do

But he’s also done so many brilliant things he’s held to a higher standard

Totally agree. Theres no lack of ability. He’s got it all.

What criticism have you seen other than his concentration?

I am not sure criticism is the word for it but he has made a decsion of what he is going to do with the ball before he has it. Think it is more this than concentration that causes fumbles, dropped marks leading also to some poor decision making.

He has been no where near as bad as made out on these boards and is always look to improve and lead.

He also has had a hand injury that may explain some of this too

One of the things that’s impressed me with Freijah is he’s had some of the worst first half’s of his career this year but generally followed them up with great second half’s which shows balls. If you go back to all our close wins he’s pretty regularly been a part of some of the clutch moments that’s won us games.

Hes a stud, he’ll sort it out

It’s more the level of anger when he has his poor half’s but as mentioned above I.e like the Dees game he can do something immature one minute then step up and kick the winner the next (I genuinely had more faith in him kicking that goal then I would Bont)
