What are you on about?

I'm too lazy to watch them train 7 days a week?

And do I have to keep repeating myself to you in every post, again I give you Thommo and the mistake you admitted they made.

I see you didn't comment about Kelly. Was he in your best 22 at the start of the year?

No Kelly wasn't and how wrong that proved me, obviously those that monitored his progress knew what they were doing the same that pick the rest of the team. They would have been confident he was becoming ready to take the next step but not confident on the others

The ones that really aren't ready are pohlkoke gooch sig they were drafted this year not many players out of the 80 or so that were drafted have made an impact this year could you name 20 that have stepped up in the first year in to say they will equip themselves at AFL level especially finals besides SPP that we could have had. Hammish you stuffed up there big time

As for Wigg the staff think he is an ok player but is he capable who knows I have called for him to be picked so I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say I don't want him to get a go but I also don't think it has a massive bearing on this year against our top 25

Doedee I have watched him closely I think the only thing holding him back is the clangers get them out of his game and he comes in but that is a massive issue. If your playing backline and you have two absolute howlers that is almost career ending. Matty McDonough at Richmond did that and he was cut from a few games he had howlers similar to what I've seen Doedee do and he lasted 4 years on the list and he was a fair player

What about Wigg?

It wasn't worth a crack, only those suffering from oldmanitis thought so. He had a shocker and embarrassed himself, is that how you wanted a legend of the club to go out?

Tredrea said he looked 90 FFS.

I don't care how Thommo goes out but if had something to offer a premiership I would take it for sure

Like I said I would play Wigg although he reminds me of a type like Wright/kerridge can play but doesn't offer anything spectacular

Yes it is if we were sitting where they are on the ladder we would be doing the same but that is not the case

I think apart from Thompson not retiring at the end of last year, possibly the next worst thing was the injuries he sustained in the preseason etc. If he had of been fit earlier in the year and given a run, the coaches would've been able to put a line through him earlier and play the younger blokes. They could have also forced him into the development role in the SANFL most of us thought he was taking on.

And getting closer to the pointy end are some of the coaches are starting to lose their nerve?

Its an argument now that we need to finish higher on the ladder to avoid travel and due to lack of depth. Panic about what will we do if we lose a mid to injury. If we had put more games into the younger players and created more depth perhaps we could've afforded to finish a position or two lower on the ladder?

So if Cheney was fit at the start of the year and Kelly wasn't given a game, what would have been your opinion?

I bet it would have been the coaches don't rate him so he's not that good.

The facts are due to injury the club was forced to play him, otherwise the same thing as 2016 would have happened, he wouldn't have played and he would have been written off as no good.

Wigg isn't spudding it up I called for his inclusion infact he should have come in infront of gooch if your honest as he has shown much more

But no one mentions that

This is where it's impossible to discuss things with you.

I wanted Wigg in.
You wanted Wigg in.

Yet you tell me he's not good enough, and the coaches obviously see that.

You're arguing against your own position to try and disprove mine!

What does your first point mean? What does Thommo have to offer a premiership and that's the point, he doesn't and he didnt at the end of 2016.

These coaches you have put all your faith in couldn't see it and you wonder why some are sceptical of our premiership chances.

And you might not care, but I've always rated Thommo and I think it's a horrible way for him to end his career. That's not how you want legends bowing out.

Correct I wanted Wigg in but I did say it wasn't a big one what I have seen of him which isn't a great deal apart from 3 or 4 games this year he doesn't look anything great infact I wouldn't be surprised even if he gets games he will be moved on

Coaches probably think that aswell but they have seen him in every game and every training session have you

Do you think he will be suited to become a solid mid or a solid HBF

He obviously is being played in the mid due to our severe lack of mids he's the best of a bad bunch in the twos

You laughed when I said Wigg for the midfield and said he was a half back flanker.

You don't know if he's the best of a bad bunch as we haven't played him. Birdbrain reckons a 10 possession 5 free kicks against Thommo is our next best mid so we are unlikely to see him.

That's my opinion cheney had a great year last year but the ball didn't bounce his way with injury

Time has seen players get a shot due to injury and grab it with both hands hodges v modra
This year Greenwood v Hampton although Greenwood made sure he was noticed in the twos

No one in the twos is pushing their name so far forward it can't be missed and I mean no one please don't deny this

He plays every week you do realise we have two teams playing and they both play Australian rules footy

And yes birdbrain is a tosser

Was Kelly pushing for selection before getting picked?

Wigg can't do much more in the SANFL to get selected.

What does this mean?

Wigg plays every week for the crows you said we haven't played him

If we weren't sitting top and we were struggling at 10 th like Essendon I'm sure they would have given him a crack

When you're top it obviously means the team that's in is playing extremely well wouldn't you say

So you're relying on Douglas to play 2 games this year that are actually decent, and just hoping the second one will be when it counts?

Exactly what we did last year - and he was shit when it counted.

He's, unfortunately, not up to it.

A youngster playing quality footy is actually more likely - Douglas has been terrible.

Yes, the thinking with experienced senior players is often that they are working their way back into 'form' and that the crunch game, the very next game is the one when they will produce their form of old. For some, this selection period is lengthy with continued unimpressive performances. Yes Douglas is a worry.

You're not for real are you?

We are talking about giving Wigg a chance in the AFL not SANFL, that's right up there Marty.

So you think everyone in our side at the moment is playing well and we can't improve it?

And we are also talking about who the next mid in should be, Birdbrain says Thommo, so your point isn't relevant.

Tell me what every footy expert in the country will be telling us come the pointy end of the season

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR EXPERIENCE

Burton is just trying to make it sound better for Thommo I reckon. He wouldn't actually be next mid picked. Just that he was last dropped.
