You like making posts confrontational don't you.

Wasn't even having a crack at you get you get your back up.

Calling it like it is, for god sake I've even said I can't bag Hamish whilst we are doing so well on top of the ladder the entire club needs to be congratulated

I'm backing the coaches as they deserve it

One week at a time, will it remain that way who knows but if you worry too much about the future you will give yourself an heart attack

If they pick Tom I'm going to have to back them as we can't be doing any better we are on top

At lot will hate me for this comment, but its 100% the truth.

Unless we have injuries we should not be trying to blood any more youth at this point in the season. The youth we have put through and given exposure to is fine but what is left will not improve our flag chances as their talent is one that needs to be nurtured at AFL level and isnt natural.

We are a real shot at a flag this year. All focus must be put on this.

This is why I loved Greenwood being rested. Shows a commitment by the club that he is a part of our plans for September. Milera will have a week off soon as well.

Mate no one hates you for having an opinion.
I dislike opinions that aren't well thought out or stated as fact without a reason given as to why that poster believes that point of view.
It is a forum after all but it doesn't mean it has to be abusive or at least contain some form of logical discussion.

I do believe we are a real shot at the flag and our focus should be on that. IMO blooding a couple more young player will improve our team performance, put pressure on those in the AFL team by showing players in the whole squad that SANFL form will be rewarded.
I also feel we erred last year in our player management and love the fact the club was prepared to rest a player.( I'll argue his replacement.)
Hope we see more of this moving forward.

I'm saying Doedee can kick...I don't agree with your assessment I've seen him as well.
No player whoever kicks at 100% and so Glenelg benefited from a bad kick big deal, it doesn't verify your claim.
Wigg I'm saying needs a chance, I'll assess his worth after he's played AFL. The truth is he's earned the chance at SANFL by consistent results and influencing games at SANFL level.
A player with Gooch's attributes would improve our team now and be good for his development.

You keep chirpy on about us being top of the table as proof everything is well.
Adelaide has never bottomed out and we are competitive and will remain competitive if we keep our depth players, and players we've invested time into (and Lever).

The reason Adelaide hasn't won a premiership IMO is in part due to decisions made by Adelaide.
Tippett... self inflicted loss of four draft picks and Tippett himself.( not getting in an argument on Tippett.)
In hindsight weak trading with Dangerfield deal.
Poor player assessment eg. Thompson in lieu of Lyons.
Stubborn coaching selections and list management such as Thommo last year, Jenkins injury and Jacobs fatigue.
Neil Craig suffered from the same affliction.
Our inability to change our game style or selections for specific games...use of taggers and setting up differently for Geelong/Hawthorn.
Lack of opportunities to young developing player meant they left..Dunston
Trigg's poor tenure did the club no favours and was caustic.

The whole Walsh tragedy also certainly took an effect.

I've gone off track completely, it's all in my previous post.
We are tracking fine, my point, we do have more options to improve our squad with a few players who are showing something but they need an opportunity and those in poor form need to be dropped. We need to plan for the final and beyond.

Didn't you watch yesterday two absolute howlers that were direct goals as a result same happened with the bays, it just didn't bother me as much as I am a Glenelg supporter

As for Wigg you could be right and he probably deserves a crack Milera looks like he's drowning ATM so he probably should go in

We have a number of players coming back from injury out of these I reckon all could improve the team

Greenwood
Harto
Lynch
Cheney
Hampton
Seedsman

Players that could be used and maybe depending on one if we cop injuries or two they find form

ROB
Menzel

Maybe Wigg

I've just named 9 players, we will not require 9 replacements

The others

Keath
Doedee
Gooch
Sig
Pohlkoke
Beech
Gore
Dear
Jarman

Some are close but no cigar

Judging players on a single SANFL game, or even a couple of mistakes within that game, is crazy.

If a player is dominating for a month, and then has one bad game, it shouldn't erase the month preceding.

Every game I watch he has disposal issues am I just his unlucky charm and his disposal turns to shit when I watch him and it's not a minor issue they are howlers

It blows my mind. Barring a quarter here and there Cameron has been nothing but terrible this year.

Oh come on, this is untrue. This is still arguably his best season. And it's not as if he hasn't had his issues this year.

He's had a lean run but as is so typical of this board, he's actually "not that good", "maybe we were wrong about him". FFS, give him a break. He's still only 23.

It's actually not true, he's largely stunk. He gets as good a run on here as DMac gets a bad one.

He ripped Brisbane apart in 15 minutes but since then nothing. He's only going to be a flash in the pan player, which is fine but he's massively overrated here.

Watching the Carlton vs Dees game. Dee's honestly look lost without Viney, Bugg, Jones out there.

Also Kreuzer is running Gawn all over the ground to tire him out because he's only back for a couple weeks

Melbourne's midfield is struggling badly. Most scores launched as defensive rebound

his pressure alone makes him more valuable than Mackay.

I don't think anyone is claiming he's a gun and one of our most important players - but he's certainly exciting and certainly still holds a lot of potential, even if his trajectory has flattened out this season. There's no reason to believe he's hit his ceiling just yet, he's just not going so well.

The question is do Don and co see any glaring weaknesses in the team leading into finals?

From Friday night I see 4 - McKay, Douglas, the wonderful Scott Thompson and Cameron.

Ifm

I don't know how people can continually defend Cameron's very average performances and yet get stuck into MacKay.

10 disposals @ 50% efficiency with 5 clangers Friday night. Sorry forgot about those 2 huge tackles he had.

He has played 64 games now and is 23 years old. He needs to be earning his spot now. It can just be about development at detriment to the team. What because he runs fast and looks flashy he gets to stay?

For me its:

Out: Cameron, Thommo
In: Greenwood, Seed

If Brown is injured then Doedee comes in.
Cameron is lightning quick and as hard as nails. His pressure is outstanding and he runs with the ball making every possession count for more. Even in his current slump he is still easily justifying his spot.

Charlie is probably in better form than Eddie anyway. Now we have the balance right the form will come.

Hard to tell if we'll keep Thommo in or not. History says we will, but Pyke sounded like he was being kind of diplomatic when asked about Thommo in the post game presser. Not exactly keen to buy the argument he needs time to get up to speed and that the conditions didn't suit him, so that's why he was so bad. I saw exactly 1 thing from him that I liked all game.

We have used the least amount of players in the league this season, it was the same last year. We had an issue with not resting players last year and with not trying out replacement players, the result was that in round 23 and the finals we were playing a number of injured players which largely contributed to the side missing a shot at the flag. I don't want the same thing to happen this year.
With more senior players like Seedsman and Cheney coming back it will be these who will and should come back. It doesnt mean we dont make changes but that the changes are of players who have played. Unless a newbie goes on a high disposal jag in the SANFL the replacements should come from those who have played a higher quantity of games

But you have been? Bagged him all week when we were 2nd. So because we are now top you cant? LOLZA

But we don't make changes, this season, or last or historically. The Crows are very conservative with regards to changes in comparison to the rest of the league.

I agree. I also agreed with your call to introduce more players. I dont agree that is a Doedee or a Poholke unless they tear it up. The replacements will come from Cheney and Seedsman
