Macdonald isnt a swing man and way off afl standard currently judging by his wafl form which has been terrible in 2025 in the two fixtures in my opinion.

I don't ming Young playing a game mostly forward as the third tall. Draper can ruck for brief periods and we can bring Wagner into the team for Voss with Wagner playing the sub and Dudley coming into the 22 with Cox to spend some time forward if Cyclones rucking. Personally id bring in Narkle over Wagner (so swapping a forward for a forward) as I think he's a class above our other WAFL players with his ball use but I cant see JL doing that. Banfield can also play the third tall role when Young's midfield.

McDonald is the right change, don't change the structure that's been working the last few weeks. Like for like replacements are usually the right way to go.

Honestly think this is the case.
Cox is more mature in AFL terms. He would provide a better option up forward than McDonald.
Now that JVR is out, it seems a waste for Cox to be down back. The coaches should capitalise and make him a swing man on Saturday.
Pearce, Ryan and Draper will be more than capable with McDonald supporting

Even if Melbourne show up and we see 2021-2022 era Petracca/Oliver/Viney/Gawn it's still hard to see them kicking a winning score with that fwdline. The height mismatch is crazy, they're really going to have to embrace the chaos ball otherwise our blokes might set a record for intercept marks.

People suggesting sending Cox forward is frustrating. You ruin the cohesion of the back six and we are already playing an injured Ryan.

He has finally got himself into form in the backline. We had the opportunity to select an in form Narkle who works with the forward and mids yet we chose Oscer M who is a backmen who did nothing at all in his game against Souths.

Melbourne look weakened, we look strong, they’ve lost some firepower and can’t score, our midfield has been strengthened with Young and we have a forward leading the Coleman.

So I’ll be tipping our previous bunnies who are winless are gonna come out and knock us off at their home ground, because there’s no reason for it, because it would just be maximum Dockery for us to stumble through this game, keep them in it and then lose, and the only thing we’ve proven this season so far is the Dockery is not out of our system.
