Changes v Brisbane

Agree with Selwood for Tenace.

If Max is ruled out, then replace him with Hunt. Heard a comment than Nablett may have hurt his ankle so if he is out, replace him with Hawkins. Other than those and barring injury, the side should remain the same.

If Rooke goes bring Hunt in.
If Tenace goes I would bring Prismall or Selwood in.

OUT: Tenace, Rooke* and potentially Varcoe
IN: Selwood, Hunt

*Will be suspended, but if the lottery lets him off, then Varcoe will go out.

Prismall?? He is no defender I'm afraid. It's about time Tenace came unstuck, very easy to pick the passengers in this type of game.

Enright & Mackie turned the ball over too much... not enough polish, nothing out of the ordinary though. These 2 guys trouble me.

Dont agree about Mackie this week Marty , thought he did a very good job today but must agree with everything else . Disapointed in Boris's disposals and hate to say Coreys . But I think todays game is exactly the type of game the cats need instead of the easy ride they have been getting. Can only help them.

Agree Marty with the changes.

Maybe Varcoe is due for a rest, but jeez, the guy is a winner. Hasn't played in a losing team in the seniors (I think). I'm not sure about the twos, but he must have a damn good trike rate there. Missed the first part of last year where we played like dogs. He comes into the side and they make the Grand Final.

Maybe it is just luck, but I think it is more than that, and that is foward pressure. In previous years, you knew that if the leading forward didn't take the mark, the ball would be cleared by the opposition as soon as it touched grass. Now it is a real contest when the pill hits the deck.

Out - Rooke (1 week for a low impact bump at Ricciuto's head)
In - Selwood

OUT: Tenace, Varcoe (rest)
IN: Prismall (I heard Selwood got a heavy knock yesterday), Hunt

Joel Corey has not been at his best. Maybe a week in the twos would do him some good, bring in Callan maybe?

Nope, this resting talk annoys me. Keep him in. Why drop someone because you think he is tired? He will be playing VFL anyway.

Selwood is okay, bring him in. Going backwards if we bring in Hunt.

Agree Frappe - this is the only change I would make (and this assumes Rooke is suspended).

There seems to be an assumption (incorrect IMHO) on this board that dropping a player as soon as he has a bad game will make him play better. I think it makes them play worse because they start worrying about their form rather than being part of a team. By all means drop a player if a better player is available or form has been down over a number of weeks, but otherwise give a player a go!!!! Tenace has been very good the last couple of weeks and when Chapman had to be slotted back into the side it was Selwood who was dropped not Tenace. Why swap these two on the basis of one down day (and I don't think Tenace was terrible)? Selwood (and others) will get his chance as there will be suspension and injury over the course of the season. Same argument goes for Varcoe.

Again, no change unless change is forced.

Rooke might be in trouble. The only thing in his favour was that he was just about standing still and Ricciuto was coming towards him. He did brace for the bump though and the duty of care lies with the bumper.

Selwood will slot straight back in if Rooke is out.

Tenace was poor by foot on a few occasions today but unless we can replace him with someone who would provide an equal amount of run, we can't drop him.

Bingo!

I can't recall Tenace providing any run at all and anyway whats the point when he turns it over so often...

THen watch the replay again.

What's the point? Run is the key to our "new" game. It's vital that we run because we're so shocking at disposing of the ball. The whole game plan is to move the ball so quickly that it doesn't matter if targets are hit.

If you haven't noticed, only about 3 out of our 22 players are actually good kicks. If we dropped everyone who couldn't kick we'd have no one left to choose from.

Any chance of Mooney being in trouble. He seemed to have given some player (not sure who?) an open slap to the face. Nothing really in it, but given its Mooney....
it was a fairly good slap ,
Im a little worried about it. and with his record it could be a problem from what others have said.
