Interesting decisions to be made by the selection committee on the back of Sandringham's result today. Plenty of young players have put their hands up but how many will get in?

I think the forced outs will be Robertson & Wheatley. Holland was crap but I can see both him and Godfrey getting a game next week.

What I want the changes to be:
IN: Jones, C. Johnson, Dunn, Warnock
OUT: Robertson, Wheatley, Godfrey, Holland

Warnock to play because we need the extra tall defender and there’s no other options (Holland is NOT an option). 2 debutants is a 0% chance of occurring but I would risk it in a game we will probably lose anyway.

What I think the changes will actually be:
IN: Ward, CJ
OUT: Robertson, Wheatley

Have to agree with you there deestroy. Would just luurve to see dutchy get dropped, fired, and then egged by our 20,000 strong supporter base. That wont happen either, most unfortunately. The Mechano man is here to stay.

Would love to see at least one debutant, preferably Jones (not sure why, just have a good feeling). Godfrey will stay in in an attempt to try and negate some of Geelong's strong, physical midfield - a bit like Sydney's. Warnock for Weatley, Jones for Robbo if needed, Dutchy for anybody, even 426.

Johnson would have to go close on his Sandy performances and i have a feeling Motlop may return.

Not sure on Bizzells fitness, should be back in if fit.

Id like to see 426 possibly get a game, seems to be going alright for Sandy and now seems to be a good time as ever without Neitz and Robbo in the forward line.

426 for holland would be incredible but i just cant see that happening.
i think robbo will still play and it doesnt sound like wheatleys hammy is too bad, i didnt see him do it and he was on the ground very late so he mightve even come back on ???

we can only hope mclean comes back in... to replace either holland or godfrey

IN: Jones, CJ, Smith
OUT: Robbo, Wheatley, Godfrey
This is my hope, not what will actually happen.

Once again, the whole make-up of the team depends on injuries. McLean, Bizzel and of course Robbo.
Paper says Robbo's a chance, but I hope he gets a rest so he can play fully fit and start doing something.
The reason I go Smith is I want to see him turn his career around and also Dunn probably won't play as I think Jones will get a crack. (As Deestroy said previously, Daniher wouldn't play 2 debutants)

Other news, for Sandy reserves Neville and Gianfagna were in the best.

Robbo will definitely play. 100% stake my life on it. He's a gutsy bloke, but he should take a week off. I expect little to no change to the team, Wheatley definitely out, maybe for Bizzell

- As we are playing on the biggest stage of the home and away season, on a friday night, at the G vs the cats a side who are highly rated, i think that robbo will definately put his hand up to play. Even though it is obvious he needs to rest his knee and he is about 70%.
- Wheats will miss 1-2
- Godders isnt up to it to be honest and with beamer to get more game time this week, isnt required.
-Dutchy will get another go
-Ward will come back in to replace Wheats.
-Motty will come back in for godrey. Motlop was used throughout the preseason as a midfielder / forward. But if u rewind to round 22 last year when we didnt have Neita, motty was best afield at CHF. I think that he could be used there on friday night when we go for a bulldogs style forward structure. Especially if Robbo doesnt play and miller goes to FF or if ND needs to throw Miller down back at any stage.

pinelodge's round 6 team:

FB: Whelan Carrol Ward
HB: Brown Rivers Bate
C: Sylvia Bruce Moloney
HF: Green Miller Davey
FF: Yze Robertson mcdonald
Foll: White Johnstone Pickett
Inter: Jamar, Bartram, Motlop, Holland
Emerg: C.Johnson, Read, Jones, Smith

I'd like to see Godders go for Phil Read. Both do the same job, yet Read has far better skills, although that's still not saying much.

Holland will play without a doubt. No Neitz and an unfit Robbo means he will play.

Would like to see Jones get a run, but it won't happen. Especially after we won on Saturday. I think a guy like Motlop will be given a run before others like Jones.

In: Read, Motlop
Out: Wheatley, Godfrey

I can see Jones being hard done this year especially if we win a few now and then our players come back

Opinion?

They won't play Jones until they have exahusted all other options. That includes Godfrey, Read, Ward and various other hacks and duds.
For me, Jones isn't performing brilliantly at VFL level, but I can see him making a big impact in a real game. He suits today's style of play perfectly.
They won't rush him though, not unless we suffer a horrible run of injuries through the middle.

Would like to see them drop Holland and bring someone a bit more mobile, but sadly we don't have that luxury. Unless 426 gets a game... oh hang on... he isn't faster or better than Holland. :o

Reported in the paper today that Robbo will play on Friday. That being the case I think Godfrey now might get the arse, I pray for it anyway.

I now hope/think the changes will be

IN: C.Johnson & Read/Ward
OUT: Wheatley, Godfrey

The only way I can see ND dropping Godfrey is for another experianced player, and I would take either Read or Ward over him. Obviously we'd all like Holland out as well but he will probably get a 2nd go.

Daniher said Robbo needs 3 months off to recover from the knee, but screw that we're playing him until his leg falls off! ;)
In better news, he also said that McLean is a good chance. I'm going to pray to all known gods that this actually occurs. If it does...

In: McLean, CJ
Out: Godfrey (woo hoo), Wheatley

This is a bad move, obviously there is a far greater chance that this will become serious, we just have to hope that he can get through, although i think this means that we are unlikely to see robbos best in season 2006

Agreed. All the more important that Neita is back ASAP and others like Yze, Davey and Green can chip in.
It is now or never for Miller to go to CHF. I don't think he could be a very successful AFL player as a backman but could be pretty good at CHF and we need him there more anyway.

If McLean was available he should be in the side ASAP. If he plays for Sandy I will go into the coaches box myself on Friday.
