He may be a one trick pony but there are lots playing who have no tricks. Hawks have a smallish forward line but there are many in the team that have been playing very poorly. Surely we could have given Smith or Collins a test game

Blokes dont jump the queue because they are shiny and new, it needs to be on performance, as well as team balance. Some people on here want a dollar each way. Barlow was one of our best v Adelaide when played in his proper role.

Not sure what's going on but it's certainly not about winning. Not sure that the club hierarchy know what's going on either.

if someone gets injured then he comes in though, resting him we would leave him at home i reckon, he was playing like half forward and wing last week so we obviously don't think we need him in our backline with hughes and ibbo there

Barlow plays 50/50 between midfield and HF and has a poor game.





Funny how we armchair critics have all known for the last 2 years that with Barlow it's either fulltime inside midfielder or drop him but our MC still expect a square to fit in a round hole. He is not a link up/transistional player. Barlow is neither fast or an accurate kick.

16 other Freo players had a worse DE% than Barlow.

Barlow had a DE of 80%. Our 5th best.

Barlow and Dawson ffs ..... either Ross needs a concussion test or he's become one of the loonies on this board calling for Barlow and Dawson to be dropped. First time I've really questioned his judgement (though I realise he could be going the full tank).
Take out our most experienced defender and only mid that has looked capable of laying a tackle since Fyfe has been out seems really unintelligent and un-Ross like. Are D Pearce, Neale, Mundy going to tackle all of a sudden?
I see the Clanger, Suban and D Pearce supporters are revelling in the decision though.

I think Barlow was pretty good two weeks ago and the week before that too when Fyfe did his thing, but he was not so flash last Saturday really.

I thought he was ok last week without being in our best ... in our top seven or eight certainly. I actually thought you gave him an HM in the votes thread and said he was good but apologies in advance if I have mistaken you with someone else! What I have liked is his tackling. While tackling alone isn't enough to save his bacon, Neale, Hill, Pearce and our other mids have been pretty poor in that regard this year. Look for an all-time tackling low this weekend.

It's never hurt Lachie Neale's or Dave Mundy's reps this year. This board clearly loves their favourites.
