Just out of interest, who would you have dropped? Ross is looking forward now. You would give a rookie a game on 2 mediocre performances? By all reports, Collins' skills arent up to scratch yet. Blokes dont jump the queue because they are shiny and new, it needs to be on performance, as well as team balance. Some people on here want a dollar each way. Ross is finally doing what we have all been asking. He may be a one trick pony but there are lots playing who have no tricks. Hawks have a smallish forward line but there are many in the team that have been playing very poorly. Surely we could have given Smith or Collins a test game

if someone gets injured then he comes in though, resting him we would leave him at home i reckon, he was playing like half forward and wing last week so we obviously don't think we need him in our backline with hughes and ibbo thereIs anyone buying that Dawson was 'omitted'
Looks like he is being rested lol
When the number of available ruckmen is two, "performed well" is relative."needs to be on performance"
Clarke has performed well??

The alternative is Hannath.."needs to be on performance"

Barlow was one of our best v Adelaide when played in his proper role.
Not sure what's going on but it's certainly not about winning. Not sure that the club hierarchy know what's going on either.
Wasn't long ago we were a "no excuse" football team, now we've got a list as long as your arm.
I really think if he's given a go he would, in time, be an upgrade on Dawson
Dont get me wrong, I like Barlow, but he is slow, and an average ball user, and he has played a lot of inside mid time this year. Clearly this year is about finding out about the kids.Vs Adelaide
Barlow plays as a full time mid and has a good game.

Vs GWS
Barlow plays 50/50 between midfield and HF and has a poor game.

Funny how we armchair critics have all known for the last 2 years that with Barlow it's either fulltime inside midfielder or drop him but our MC still expect a square to fit in a round hole. He is not a link up/transistional player. Barlow is neither fast or an accurate kick.
Clarke is slow and an average ball user too. Could we have not 'found out' about Tanner?Dont get me wrong, I like Barlow, but he is slow, and an average ball user, and he has played a lot of inside mid time this year. Clearly this year is about finding out about the kids.
16 other Freo players had a worse DE% than Barlow. What was barlows efficiency though? He seems to butcher the footy a lot.
No good getting 30 possessions if you can't hit a target on a majority of them.
Same goes with dawson.

I thought he was ok last week without being in our best ... in our top seven or eight certainly. I actually thought you gave him an HM in the votes thread and said he was good but apologies in advance if I have mistaken you with someone else! What I have liked is his tackling. While tackling alone isn't enough to save his bacon, Neale, Hill, Pearce and our other mids have been pretty poor in that regard this year. Look for an all-time tackling low this weekend.I think Barlow was pretty good two weeks ago and the week before that too when Fyfe did his thing, but he was not so flash last Saturday really.
It's never hurt Lachie Neale's or Dave Mundy's reps this year. This board clearly loves their favourites. What was barlows efficiency though? He seems to butcher the footy a lot.
