Out: Thornton ( not convinced )
In: Clarke ( Hawks are weak in Ruck )

If Schammer is suspended then bring in Broughton

Schammers report was pretty pathetic i reckon...nothing in it apart from an award winning performance from the blue.

No changes for mine.

Unless theres any injuries at this stage i would think there shouldn't be any changes. However closest to being dropped IMO would probably be Murphy although he kicked 2 goals one being very important in the last quarter i might add, his attack on the ball at times as been somewhat questionable; but i still think he deserves to keep his spot.

No changes. Thornton's been good the last 3 weeks, we won, Schammer won't be suspended, and if the Hawks are weak in the ruck why do we need another ruckman in the side after our performance in the ruck tonight???

I don't think we'll see any changes unless forced. Our last two weeks' changes have been only through injury, and assuming Schammer gets off, then I don't think there will be any.

No changes unless forced I think. You have to show faith in the team playing and winning - even Murphy played his role tonight.

Also the gameplan against the Hawks will be to attack the zone at all times and try and expose Hawthorn for pace and run. On the bigger Subiaco ground versus the Dome and with Bateman out Hawthorn will be vulnerable like they were against Essendon. Thornton will play again as a defensive forward (very possibly on Hodge) and we will need Scotty to be an option up forward and make Hodge accountable like he did against Wirrapanda.

Hawthorn have seriously touched us up the last few years at Subiaco and I so want some payback!

Schammer's report was a joke, f*** I hate umpires!!!

It'll be bloody funny if the MRP panel look at the footage and clear Scham while suspending Divey McDive Murphy for his initial hit that caused Schammer to retaliate.

Then we could take a pic of Divey McDive and file it under I for Irony or K for Karma.

Btw one change I wouldn't mind seeing is McPharlin from forward to back.

There seems to be a definite pattern emerging with Elvis. Throw him forward and he will excel for a short time causing everyone to gush over what a brilliant forward he is ...

But leave him forward for a while and he totally stagnates, resulting in him being thrown back with immediate results which causes everyone to gush over what a brilliant backman he is...

He's certainly a weapon no matter which way you look at it - we just have to pick and choose the best time and place to deploy him.

Agree with this - while he created opportunities up forward tonight, he seemed to be lacking in confidence for some reason. And we need him down back next week on either Buddy or Roughy. I reckon next week will be a really good test of how Taz/Groves/Elvis can work together to cover 3 genuine tall forwards...

HUGE game now & Friday night.....Subi will be pumping!

No change

Maybe Clarke in for Pratt if more height required

Pav seemed to be favouring his knee & had it on ice after the game..hopefully pulls up ok.

Des & Ballantyne hopefully back playing Wafl ressies next weekend....good 3 weeks in Wafl & available for selection, hopefully for Round 11 :thumbsu:

I'm just not sold on Murphy. I know he kicked an important last goal, but at times he just over runs the ball and seems lost. I am happy for no changes to be made but surely Murphy needs to do a few more things in the forward defensive plays.

I wouldn't change the team at all.

Going too tall against the Hawks would work in their favour.

The Sandi/Johnson experiment is working. Hawthorn have a very flimsy backline at the moment. Johnson/Murphy/McPharlin could easily expose them.

I'd back Tarrant against Franklin. Give Groves first crack at Roughead. The 3rd tall could be taken by Solly.

Let me start off by saying, I am not a Ryan Murphy fan. In fact, I believe I have called for him to be dropped after every game this season.

But I actually liked him last night. He kicked 2 goals, and I thought he actually attacked the ball more than I've ever seen him do. Murphy was actually at the bottom of a pack in the last quarter! And as I'm writing this, I just saw him sliding under a pack again in the second quarter on the replay.

The only change I would consider is either Clarke or Campbell coming in. I think McPharlin might be needed down back this week, and without him up forward we would only have Murphy as a permanent tall forward. And Hawthorn's greatest problem at the moment is a lack of tall defenders.

no changes.

i am getting sick of the thorton and murphy bashing. they have both played their part the last two games. the only way they will learn is to play against players of AFL calibre. they are obviously better than WAFL quality and wont learn anymore there

I know Thornton has been OK but I would still prefer Broughton in before him if he is fit. We are getting big efforts from our young guys and their enthusiasm has been a big part of our recent success.

Murphy probably deserves to keep his spot but still was average last night. Other than that we are all good and should be able to cover the Hawk forwards. My biggest concern is Sewell and Mitchell in the middle. Need to nullify their impact if we are to beat them.

No changes this week. Murphy's contribution was valuable last night. Having said that he's still pretty hopeless once the ball hits the ground. A dynamic small forward would be nice now that Sandi and MJ are spending time up forward but I guess we haven't got one at this stage. Murph does at least make the opposition play taller in defence than you think they'd like.

Absolutely spot on, Best game by far for Spud. He actually was in and under in the forward line, and that has been the worst aspect of his game.
Let's hope Harvey has injected him with the same enthusiasm as the young guys, it's f**ing infectous....:thumbsu:

No changes unless Pav isn`t fit.

He seems to be labouring a fair bit and we don`t want to burn him out.

Yes, he had 5 tackles last night but from memory they were all in packs and he doesn`t seem capable of chasing due to the knee problem he had late last year.
I also wonder about his shoulders as he doesn`t attempt to take makes with his arms outstretched.

Broughton would be first in line to come back into the side which would see Suban and possibly Hayden rotate thru the middle.
