We've had an atrocious season in which senior players have let the side down massively with pissweak efforts and coming off an absolutely deplorable loss who do we drop? The last few players that came into the side. The easy targets. Not the ones who have let us down all year, not the ones who are serial underperformers. I think the coach's know the year is cooked, so want to see what some deserving players will do.

Butch was great a couple of weeks back and the coach's know what they are going to get with him, so with the year done they are looking at other stocks.

Whether Butch gets another contract next year has probably already been decided, so really we all sit here and want tough calls made (regardless who they are) maybe they have already started to make them. Hartlett for instance in a five year deal is not going anywhere one would think so that's just how that is. I remember him in that elimination final taking a hit at the southern ed and spinning around passing the ball off for a goal, was one of the toughest things i've seen done on a footy field, was Butch playing that day? no, as much as I like Butch maybe the coaches are going to give him another contract, or not? reality is he is a fringe player at the minute and one good game was never going to save him. it's not his fault, the forward line has been dysfunctional all year, Ryder missing, then in comes Dixon, it's no wonder Wingard has been lost too.

I remember Butch when Primus was coach...... maybe he's a great bloke and a cult hero, but maybe that's it, we have much bigger problems than worrying about whether Butch gets dropped if we are honest.

These changes are purely about working out what list changes need to be made at the end of the season, I'd say Lobbe and Oshea are very high on the list of potential trade bait.

Butcher had 3 weeks, 2 poor and 1 good, Dixon returns and the pair didn't work well together at all. It was always on the cards that Biutcher would get dropped. Dixon is lucky to still be playing though because he was worse than Butcher.

His first game back was in a monsoonal downpour where even the GWS millionaires forwards struggled to get a kick. 2nd game he was nearly BOG and then last week Ken decides to play 18 players in Sydney's back half. He's not really been set up to succeed. We've got nothing to lose so I just can't understand why he doesn't play the last 3 rounds and give the Dixon/butcher combo a decent hit out.

Who said he needs to be phenomenal?? we've off-loaded worse players in trade week than Lobbe, Ruckman are not dime a dozen someone will bite if we put him up.

Lobbe was always going to come back at some stage.

Obviously Matthew is seen as the backup ruckman for Ryder for the next year or two by the people who count and he only needed to prove his fitness in the SANFL.

Matthew Lobbe has a contract and will not go anywhere unless both he and the Club want to release him and I do not see that happening.

You can't seriously say you'd play Butch over Dixon. I'm annoyed at Butcher getting dropped but come on. Play players that will be around next year. Not players that are a small chance of returning. Let Dixon play and get some form.

How is it a woeful selection? he performed last week ffs & whether you or I like it or not he's an experienced contracted player that may or may not still be here next year, if he performs well it certainly won't harm his trade value if we go down that path... of course he could play a mare and make you happy but we'll have to wait and see.
