Agree with most

in M & M
out Lester Zorko

Wouldn't be against Joyce getting a game but not sure who comes out. Perhaps Prior to replace Birchall down back and Joyce taking his spot

We were ran out of our legs by a much faster team, so I don't think taking away one of our quickest players is the answer. Coleman has been fantastic since his inclusion and should be persisted with.

Out: Zorko, Lester
In: Matho, Madden.

Also, i'm surprised that Prior hasn't been mentioned. He's going to be a good player, but he is easily our least effective player out there right now. Do we know what is a like for a like replacement for him?
Just on the bolded.

We didn’t run out of legs because they were faster.

We ran out of legs because our mids spent so much energy in the first half. And more importantly, we didn’t have the flankers, particularly back flankers to support the midfield.

If we’re going to play at that intensity, we need 3 midfielders on the bench to rotate with the starting mids, with one mid resting forward on occasion.

And we need back flankers with stamina and speed, who can push up the ground and help the midfield.

That’s where Rich and Birchall, and to a lesser extent Ah Chee, let such a game plan down.

Replace Birchall and Ah Chee with Prior and Madden. Replace Coleman with Rayner. And have JBerry, Robertson and Bailey (with Madden) on the bench.

And we “might” have the team to play that intensity for the whole game.

But we need to live with players like Lyons or Mathieson, not having the tank to be able to run defensively the whole game.

Agree, Zorko got a week for being a dickhead. Great player, but cost the team again in the heat of moment with stupidity. I guess he'll never learn. Hope his hot head and lack of discipline doesn't cost us a gf. New Captain next year please.
How was his hot head over the 38 odd regular season wins we have had in the last 2 and a half years?

Did his 10 tackles and 27 pressure acts help the side in any way??

Man this place turns on itself after losses.
I think it's the way we lost that has caused such a commotion. We were absolutely smashed in the second half and couldn't stem the momentum. If the game had have been close the entire way, I doubt there would have been as much disappointment, but I think it's hard not to be disappointed when the team completely forgot how to run after the second half.

I'm talking about the antagonism between posters, not disappointment at the team.

Oh, i agree with that. It's always strange to see how fans seem to take losses harder than the players themselves. I think we should just relax a little on it, and find ways to express our disappointment in a way that comes off as less hostile.

Well disagreements on players and strategy are far more likely to arise after defeats .It's always been the same in footy, most sports.

A more interesting read than when we're all high fiving.

I don't think too many are overly disappointed in the loss itself . They were too good.

Look at defeats against teams big mids who get a run on.
not sure what been learnt as we seem to have no plan B
All the pats on the back we played well first half.. We spent all our energy like we did against the cats last year at the SCG

Interestingly in the big games we've played over the last 3 years we can spend our tickets early and struggle to maintain it. The first final we played against Richmond we kicked all points.

I think it's an experience thing. And in the end your strength and ability.

Didn’t ruck at all in the twos today. Archie and Fullarton did the rucking. Not going to be rushed into the ones. We seem more interested in developing Henry as a KPF.
I don't understand this. He played predomantly as a ruck in the U18's didn't he. So why are we developing him as a KPF? We should just draft a forward and develop him. If we want him to be a 2nd forward/ruck then why not get him practicing some ruck craft.

He must have done a little bit of Ruck work, possibly when the ball was in the forward line but he did have 4 hit outs.

2019 fair enough.. 2020 less so now 2021 we need a plan B.
Said a few times our Kryptonite. Blues did the same in 2019 after our lead.
Teams work out we have no plan B.
Most of our losses teams smash us out of the centre.
Not sure as someone else said we do not have the run off back and forward line like other teams do.
So all left to our mids.

The coaches must want him to focus solely on his forward craft at the moment, not uncommon to develop a player in a certain position to add more strings to their bow.
The coaches know what they are doing, I would back them in.

Meh, they're a menace to native fauna anyway.

No he played mostly as the deepest forward at SANFL Colts level. His team had no key forwards, but two rucks. The other ruck didn’t have the ability to play forward like Henry did.
