Changes v Richmond Rd11

Can't drop everyone, but Mzungu, Clarke, Duffield and Mundy have been terrible the last couple of weeks. Anthony is a definite out, then one of the above. Love to see McPhee, Walters in, Silvagni if there's a spot somewhere.

Why all the Mundy bashing, I know he wasnt brilliant but 18 possessions with a disposal effectiveness of 83 percent isnt too bad.

Only 2 clearances so not at this best, but he is working up to it.

OUT: Anthony, Clarke, Crozier
IN: McPhee, Griffin, Sheridan

Mundy to Sub, Sheridan to start.

Give the big Sandi more time up front. We have to work that cabbage Maric into the ground. I'm not sure Clarke can physically compete with Maric.

OUT: Anthony, Mzungu, Crozier

IN: Wait til the WAFL plays out but anyone out of Sheridan, Suban, Spurr, Mora, Lower or Walters

OUT: Crichton, Duffield, Broughton or Mundy
IN: Lower, McPhee, Walters

I thought Broughton was good today. Took some good solid marks in the back half. Picked up some good possies.

Out: Anthony

In: Walters

Sheridan was excelent in the WAFL today. Kicked a great goal. Finished with 2 goals and 26 possies. He could get a look in too. Morra also has started to show some great signs in the WAFL for Peel too.

Bit of respect for arguably the in-form ruckman in the comp at the moment, he has been brilliant this year.

Was really hoping Freo would beat Adelaide today so you would be running with confidence for next week. Did well to get it as close as it was in the last quarter.

Looking forward to next week in any case, setting up the return trip in Perth later in the season that I'll actually get to attend being in Perth. I think we'll go in favourites seeing as it's at the MCG, just like I'd back you as favourites at Subi, but it's not going to be a free ride, Freo are tweaking and refining, they'll come good.

Yeah, at least Richmond have an in-form ruckman.

Last time Maric played against Sandi, he needed counselling after the game. Sure, it's a different story now and he's full of confidence. Lets hope Sandi does the damage again.

I said after last week we needed to drop the likes of Duffield and Mundy. And look what happens? The same old shit.

Until we make some actual statements at the selection table, we are going nowhere. It has gone beyond selecting a team better equipped to win. We can't improve the side, as the replacements aren't any more talented. Need to drop some senior players, even if it seemingly weakens the side on paper.

I would drop Barlow before Mundy.
Barlows disposal has been dreadful.
He isnt in the team for his speed or any sort of defensive ability.
So he needs to be providing run and carry, being a link in a chain to move the ball forward etc.
If his disposal is crap he is adding very little.

Mundy is also not in team for speed or any kind of defensive ability in midfield.
Atleast when he is getting the ball he isnt turning it over as often and is still disposing of ball well the majority of time.

Barlow was exponentially better than Mundy yesterday

Comment sounds like someone who wasn't at the game. Mundy disposal wasn't great. Barlow > Mundy yesterday. Think the coach thought so as well starting Mundy on the bench in the 2nd half.

I'm thinking Clarke out Griffin in too.

Griffin is currently a better ruck and Zac is giving us nothing forward. At least Griffin can compete harder as a forward and if we play our forward line as we did yesterday, he shouldn't get exposed on the way out.

Sandi and Griffin to change at FF. Tiger defence is very undersized, and if we put the right mix forward eg Ballas and Crozier we can benefit here.

They are getting games into Clarke, and with his only competition for a tall forward spot being Anthony he wont played moved anywhere. He is our future.

I would love walters at his feet, with him given the instructions that if he cant mark make sure his opponent doesnt either.

Yep, I'd go with that, but Lyon seems to really rate Clarke up forward so won't be dropping him.

For those asking for Mundy to be dropped, he is out of form and we dont have anyone better to come in. Just needs one good game and he will be back into it. Barlow is coming back from a badly broken leg, I think its the type of injury that deserves a years grace. Duffield was among our best earlier in the year when we were playing well, and is pretty good at the kick outs, stick with him and back him to get through the tough times. Probably wouldnt look ordinary if the midfield was anything more than a freeway into our defence. JA, well we structure up better with him in the side, but he just doesnt get involved in enough contests. Crichton, well he did a couple of things in the third but was culpable in the first half. Pearce is a cheap target, has been good all year.

Crozier, wow didnt he have a great attitude, a mix of mongrel and class. Start him in the pocket. Ballantyne as the sub, will be more effective when the opposition is tiring. Lower in for Crichton. Silvagni for JA and try him forward. Zac Clarke has been pathetic in his attack on the ball two weeks in a row, either drop him or burn a hole in his ear before the game. But dont bring in Griffin, Tiges are run and gunners, cant afford to have a Westinghouse on the field.

Some of these changes might not be possible due to fitness etc but I would have the following:

Spurr in for Duffield
Silvagni in for Anthony (McPharlin rotating with Silvagni forward and back)
Lower in for Ibbottson
Plus we need Walters in as well but I am not sure who should go out. These changes should toughen us up a bit.

Mundy played equal lowest TOG for Freo yesterday (not including the Subs of course). The same as Neale. He clearly isn't fully fit, but playing at AFL level is probably better for his fitness than a WAFL game.

At least he isn't a clanger magnet like Johnson.. and Johnson plays where you can't be a clanger magnet. Cost us 4 goals on his own yesterday with poor disposal, decision making and weak efforts to get back and defend. He should be dropped, not good enough. He's once again riding that golden ticket. He's been ok this year, but not great. Too many people look at the stats and see how many possies he gets. But he turns about 40% over and is pathetic in a one on one contest.
