Preview Changes versus Geelong

The good old changes thread is the always hotly debated and never fails to deliver.

Personally I don't really have a problem with people nominating guys who might need to go back to the two's and work on their game. Everyone's entitled to their own view after all.

What's really refreshing though is to see a poster qualify an opinion with an alternate inclusion and what role they may play. It seems kind of counter productive towards healthy and respectful debate to just throw up names for exclusion, yet offer nothing on who takes over that player's role in the side, etc.

Rarely happens though, and it's the main reason why shitfights always start in this thread.

This board reads like most posters created 5 aliases and started trolling themselves. I have no idea who is serious and who isn't.

Edited for how I sometimes read Big Footy;)

can some-one on here tell everyone what scott mcmahon did for the team on the weakend, for him to keep his spot in the team? Besides watch him turn the ball over, his man kick goals on him, fall over when going for a mark, and not get a mention in the best again, people think Cunners and L.A a slow have u seen this bloke try and run. OUT Mcmahon. IN Pedo

In: Hansen (missing his intencity)

Out: Petrie (for wearing his socks up.... looked weird)

TC, who won! Sounds like an irresistable force meeting an immovable object. Do you remember which year?

Plugger was a beast.....end of discussion. But Micky was tough though. Which reminds me, Did he end up marrying that hot girlfreind of his? Hard to imagine one but true. My apprentice years back gave her the thumbs, I personally never have seen her but wasnt all that bad from reports.

kangaroos.com.au says:
Having shown plenty of positive signs in his debut year in 2010, expectations were high for Ben Cunnington.

A niggling knee-injury threatened to derail his campaign, but he returned to full training in March and it was full steam ahead.

He was back for round one, but faced plenty of challenges being tested in roles through the midfield, in defence and even as a run-with player.

Cunnington found it tough to settle at times and was omitted on several ocassions, but the ability to play in different positions will no doubt help his development in the long run.

Despite the hurdles, he continued to look more comfortable with the ball in hands and his efficiency improved immensely as the season wore on.

He played arguably his best game of the year in the final round against the Tigers, giving plenty of reason for excitement if he can get his first full pre-season under his belt.

I understand your point. I'm just not seeing anything that looks like it will be elite. He had that 1 handball from his knees in a pack through traffic that was Deisel like. Outside of that he has been pedestrian at best.

Even when Jack was huffing after 10 minutes game time he still showed glimpses, even elite speed to sprint 15 metres to dive head first into a pack and try to kill himself. For Jack it was pure endurance issues, never ability.

My concern with all of this is that by the time all of our kids have played 50 games and we know exactly where they stand, Boomer, Dish & Spud will all be about done. I see no harm in C going to the 2's for a fortnight and trying to dominate while we have a look at Gibson.

I love the ins. This would be our best 22 IMO.

The only concern i have is the run we are dropping. But you can't have everything i guess.

hansen is our #4 runner @ the club behind Grimma Basti @ some kid from boxhill dont think the inclusions drop the running power.

Happy to have him but dont see him doing a better job than spare keys he played forward in VFL. So defensive form is yet to be seen this year and has not had the ability on big bodies has done well on running machines like Revolt not good on the JBrown / Tomohawk type for me it Should be more likely

Out - Thomas(Injured) Mullett(size)
In - JZ (Smashing Machine) CarKeys (Stopping Machine)

Does anyone here actually watch our games at all?

I'm amuzed myself Harper Edwards Anthony did you watch a round 2 replay from last year no wonder you didnt see any need to highlight these guys.

L Delaney although I think he should make the team Sunday cant be highlighted ove C Delaney because he has to be selected before he can hold his own C Delaney held his

Budda get a new bone haters love to hate

My god, we're just plucking names out of a hat now lol. Keep kicking myself for coming on here expecting rational team discussion.

For those that want Anthony, Cunnington, McMahon, Harper, Atley, mullet dropped etc... The team will be..

In: Ziebell & Hansen
Outs: delaney (only because it's Geelong) & Thomas (if injured) otherwise probably Campbell (just squeezed out of the best 22)

Hopefully that will prevent the shock come Thursday night when Speight or Majak aren't named.

Why on earth would you want to drop Macmillan?

I still think Anthony should have been dropped after round 1. A good game vs GWS did nothing to convince me he is prepared to work hard when he doesn't have the ball. I'd love to be proved wrong, but I really fear he will be found wanting against Geelong, and it could be a crucial factor in the result.

Agree entirely. Really not convinced on LA. Hopefully pumps out of 25 possession 3 goal game on the weekend with a DE% 80+

Sen mentioned that Hansen may be a chance, tarrant probably won't be risked and Goldstein may be dropped.....

If the two Ruck deal is a bust, then right at the moment HMac is playing the better footy.

What a fall from grace, the coach would definitely have to take a fair chunk of the blame as well.
