I'm tipping Moore would be in front of Ah Chee, I wasn't overly impressed with his game in the SANFL yesterday.

Moore is a favourite of Kenny so expect him to come into this side at the earliest opportunity. He was BOG yesterday and had a ripping pre season. In reality, Moore should have been playing his 4th AFL game in a row.

I think Andrew Moore is more the cog in the machine we need in order for all the other parts of the midfield to fire properly than Ah Chee is. Ah Chee has more tricks up his sleeve but Moore will throw his body into stoppages and clear out space for the Boak's and Gray's to shine. Dom was doing this prior to last year.

Mitchell is playing a defensive wing 'sort of' position, he was very ineffective yesterday (as was O'Shea).

As much as Jonas is out of form, I highly doubt he will be dropped given his matchup capabilities and vice captaincy role (unless they are looking to make a statement!).

I like the thought of Neade have a crack this weekend, he was very good yesterday and his work rate was really good.

"Mitchell" and "Defensive" are not words that are particularly synonymous. His defensive efforts are terrible.

Moore should really be ripe for the picking as a genuine AFL player given his age and ability.

He really needs to have a big year and has a golden opportunity.

I'd still keep White in (unless he is struggling with injury of course). Apart from Shane Edwards, who pulled out before's yesterdays game anyway so he might not even play, do Richmond have any genuine quick, small forwards? If not, Impey out then.

Wingard has done ok playing more around the ball recently (fair enough he's been playing there with Ollie and Polec out), but like others have mentioned recently, we seem to be lacking crumbers in our forward line at the moment. As soon as the ball has hit the ground in our forward 50 the last two weeks, the opposition defence has just ran it out so easily. So with Ollie likely to return, move Wingard back to playing predominantly up forward, and play Amon on the wing in Polec's role.

So, i'd go ...

OUT: Impey (bit stiff), O'Shea and Mitchell
IN: Moore, Carlile, Wines

Either start Moore as sub or Broadbent to give him a wake up call.

whats your beef with Impey?

Fair point with Broadbent, I like it - I recall the same thing happened last year in the early rounds which was the catalyst for his year.

Hi Port supporters.

Just a heads up that The PortRich Banter Thread is back up again in the Richmond Board.
So if you like to rub salt into the wounds of the Tigers without any repercussions (like a day off or card or anything like that), please visit the below thread. I'll personally like each and every single one of your posts, no matter how awful it is.

Enjoy and good luck this week.

Inclusions and players being dropped has to framed in the right context. We have no SANFL game this week so whoever is dropped is out for at least 2 weeks - so asking them to find form will take several weeks. Perhaps better to drop players who are injured or run down. We also have to get match ups right - Richmond lack pace but have a lot of talls up front.

White looks like he could use a rest.
Mitchell is struggling but doesn't need to build form in SANFL as he kills at this level so him missing a game of SANFL is no big deal.
Westhoff needs to build form, can't do this as there is no SANFL game, and is too important structurally. Must stay
Jonas needs to build form and is a part of the leadership group. Stewart could come in for him but think he stays.
Hartlett and Broadbent need to build form and are too important to be dropped.

Neade would be a handy crumber but we would lose run. Young was dropped for some reason and didn't kill SANFL. Ah Chee and Amon deserve more time. I think Moore coming in makes sense.

All in all.

Out:O'Shea, Mitchell, White
In: Carlile, Wines, Moore

Emerg: Stewart, Ah Chee, Clurey

Got no beef with him, just not sure if there is a match-up for him? I said "Apart from Shane Edwards, do Richmond have any genuine quick, small forwards? If not, Impey out then". I also said he would be a bit stiff to get dropped. I think Pittard or Krak can play on Edwards if he plays.

Definitely Mitchell and O'Shea out for Wines and Carlile, but i feel we need another strong inside midfielder in there too (Moore), so i had to choose someone else to go out. Only said Impey because not sure there is a match-up for him like i said.

fair enough and you may be right.

Like Pittard, I think Impey is critical to our backline structure and will be a long term lock for us down back unless he progresses to the midfield given his speed. I love how Impey takes the game on and his closing speed is genuinely elite.

Moore in the guts.

Arch on a HFF, rotating through stoppages forward of centre.

That handball is one of the uniquest weapons I've ever seen, let alone going around today. Let's use it. Or give Yoey a debut as sub, either/or.

Agree although Ah Chee has earned a full run and the opportunity to show that he can be that cog if given the chance.

Still shits me that Ah Chee, Moore, Young and Stewart all played at Balaklava. At least one of them should have been at the Gabba.

Yeah it's one thing to do it in the SNAFL but to pull it out under pressure in his second (?) AFL outing shows it's something he can do when needed.

Would love to see it become a regular occurrence in our games.

I would have thought most AFL players could handball like that, I don't see it as anything unique to Ah Chee but thats just me :)

They've got steve morris playing forward this season hes the only real small the rest are mostly mids and talls.
This is whats a bit concerning. We've been getting belted in the midfield stats and their midfield consist of; vlaustin deledio cotch McIntosh (more outside) martin ellis miles and grigg. Houli can run through sometimes aswell. We're going to need all the grunt we can get probably wont happen but I wouldn't mind bringing in any 3 or young moore ah chee and wines ofc.

It's pretty much
Vlausitn, Deledio, Cotchin, Martin, Ellis, Miles, Grigg

vs

Boak, Ebert, Gray, Wines, Hartlett, Cornes, and thus we need to bring in one or two of ah chee/young/moore.

Also is it worth giving Paul Stewart a game? Anyone who has seen the SANFL games does his form warrant a game?

Stewy is getting consistent numbers between 20 and 30 a game..

There is obviously an aspect to his game that the coaches don't like however suspect his time is coming.

Morris is not a small forwards behind. He is dreadfully out of form and I can 100% he will stay in the side as he has pics of Hardwick that involves a donkey, chocolate ice cream and a transvestite. So we will go into the game one short /sighs.

Our main forward danger for you guys and I pray the penny has finally dropped with hardwick is our 3 talls in Reiwoldt to run high and work his mans tank. Griff and Tyrone deep to mark or bring the ball to ground and then our resting mids as medium hit ups. Our one genuine X factor forward is Shane Edwards.

The one match up im really hoping happens is Martin on Wines, will be a joy to watch regardless of the result imo.

you guys will fancy yourselves this weekend for sure..

a tough contest against the Pies and obviously keen to make amends for last years final..

hopefully both teams come away injury free.

IMO Its a 50/50 game.

Outside of the EF, we have a good record against Port. Now, we also are a good traveling side. In saying that, you guys would have been stung by the loss on the weekend and would want to genuinely make amends. Also there is real feeling from both sides when playing each other so i doubt the cornes factor will be that great, as you guys will go flat stick anyway.

Our main issue all year, is that we have yet played a 4 quarter game. We won on the weekend as we finally for most part of the game fixed our disposal. So once we stopped turning the ball over all the time, we could actually start to use our strength which has always been our spread and over lap. If we bring our kicking boots and actually play with AFL standard disposal, it will be a cracking game.

Its one of those games that might very well run both teams into some form with a high octane, give us your best shot type of game...or you could just smack us by 68 points because the weak minded richmond turned up :P

what actually happened to Edwards and do you reckon Lloyd could come in aswell?
Yeah riewoldt usually does quite well against us he will probably get the carlile match up
Griffiths should get hombsch and vickery trengove but they could swap around.
Shane Edwards is a good zippy player been in very good form its a credit to him. Impey or krakouer to match up there.

I really like your juniors in particular drummond whos unfortunately out but I reckon you picked up gems in mcbean and Menadue hopefully they both play

Edwards has a cork in the calf, so rested him on the weekend. Club figured, miss one game is better then risking missing 3-4. IMo Lloyd will only ever play again if we lose a forward due to injury. The guy only has one trick and little work rate. His form also during our season has been beyond awful. In saying that, knowing Hardwicks loyalty to players, he will be picked
