I think it's a given they will rest Jacobs which means ROB is in.

If there are no other injuries or players being rested, it's going to be very interesting as to who they will drop for Tex. This will be a very telling selection call.

Just on that, and I can't find our goal kicking list to check - does it seem like we've had a large drop off in our goals from mids this year?
Was thinking that tonight. It's the hawthorn model where the forwards kick the score.

Forwards kick the goals, what's next?

This year:
Betts 50
Jenkins 49
Walker 36
Lynch 28
McGovern 25
Douglas 17
Cameron 15
Lyons 13
Atkins 9
Sloane 9
Seedsman 8
Jacobs 7
Milera 5
Smith 4
M Crouch 3
Brown 2
B Crouch 2
Mackay 2
Thompson 2
Hartigan 1
Henderson 1
Laird 1
Talia 1

203 out of 290 (70%) kicked by the 6 main forwards, and that is leaving Douglas out of it who has played mainly forward as well.

Edit: last year -
Betts 63
Walker 59
Jenkins 46
Lynch 32
Cameron 29
Dangerfield 21
Sloane 11
Knight 8
Thompson 8
Douglas 7
Smith 7
Wright 5
Atkins 4
Jacobs 4
Lyons 4
Van Berlo 4
CEY 3
Grigg 3
Henderson 3
Mackay 3
M Crouch 2
Laird 2
Martin 2
Brown 1
Talia 1

229 out of 332 (69%) from the 5 main forwards.

So very similar breakdown.

It's not though. If Jacobs gets up they will more than likely play him.

I don't know how this compares to other years but:

Lyons 13, some of these may have been when he was playing more forward
Sloane and Atkins 9
Seedsman 8

The rest aren't worth mentioning.

Didn't count Douglas as he's playing a lot up forward.

Love your work EvB.

Add Douglas and it's 76%.

Danger has kicked 20 or so this year :(

I think that's a significant issue - and it was part of our problem against Geelong; too one dimensional, and not threatening enough from the middle. Too reliant upon the forwards.

As good as they are, flood back, or do what Geelong did, and then what's our option??

Need to make that a focus before finals.

The question is whether he gets up, I suspect they will be cautious and give him a weeks rest.
Don't know what they showed on tv but I was watching him do some run throughs, and he seemed ok. Half expected him to come back on.

I don't think they will risk him if he's not right, but if he pulls up ok, I don't expect him to be rested.

Pyke has said he believes in playing the best 22, and has already talked up his chances of playing. Wonder if pyke is wary of the week off post minor round too.

Get better at finding the forwards. We will get nowhere by throwing the playbook in the bin for the finals.

20 goals for pd.

I wouldn't throw the playbook out, but surely it's not a hard tweak to make.

If our mids are dangerous, they need to be accounted for, which should give our forwards a bit more space.

I like him but Mackay really needs to hit the gym a bit more.

I'd say it's more a matter of ratkins and sloane being the only ones capable. Can't see thomo, the crouches, Mackay kicking lots of goals.

Out:
Sauce - rest him anyway just like Tex
Mackay - just because
Thommo - is cooked
In:
ROB - straight swap
Milera - we need some speed and pressure acts, DMAC lacks both
CEY - If he asks to be traded at years end you couldn't blame him

Texas- Chill for another week

Seems to be going through that stage Lyons went throught dominating the SANFL and not getting games. Next year he may get Thommos spot. Hope he is patient like Lyons was.

Mignt be a big test straight up for O'Brien if he plays for Sauce this week. Archie Smith has a massive leap on him and Stefan Martin is probably back after having a rest too. Will need to put in a big performance.

Did you see the part of Pyke's presser where he was saying he was hopeful he'd come up next week with treatment. Looked pretty genuine to me, no mention, as many coaches would, that if he doesn't it'll give another player an opportunity to step up and do a job. I found that a little odd.

Hardly Wayne. I've had a name change, that's all. I am the cool group.
Is there a link with your last three letters of the new name?
