What changes for this week, Dont think their will be too many this week we could possibly go in unchanged. If i had to make 1 change it would be
Thommo> Kerridge

In: Kerridge

Out: Wright* (or Thompson if they rest him)

* this has been the trend over the past 2 seasons.

Play poorly, become the sub, dropped the week after.

Wright was good enough as the sub to retain his place
Kedge for Thompson (Rested) or no change

I think we should play small down back and compensate with an additional mid, looking at their lineup. No injuries for them, Boyd may return.

Western Bulldogs Round 20
B: D.Morris, M.Austin, L.Picken
HB: R.Murphy, J.Roughead, T.Young
C: D.Cross, M.Wallis, A.Cooney
HF: T.Dickson, D.Addison, D.Giansiracusa
F: L.Dahlhaus, T.Campbell, J.Grant
R: W.Minson, R.Griffen, T.Liberatore
I/C: E.Wood, L.Jones, K.Stevens, J.Tutt
EMG: D.Pearce, L.Hunter, C.Howard
In: M.Austin , L.Jones, ?????
Out: M.Talia (Soreness) , L.Hunter (Rested) , J.Macrae (Soreness)

Out: Thompson (non-negotiable), Otten
In: Kerridge, Lyons(?)

If that is the case, should we rest Rutten instead? He will only play between 12 and 15 games next year.

Does he have a match up?

Or I feel Shaw goes out before Otten.

Perfect chance to rest Truck. Not taking the Bullies light but theres no matchup for him. Shaw can cover Grant and Talia to Jones. Minson will probably monster Sauce but hes done that to everyone this year, so unless Thompson is rested I cant see more than one change. Would like to see Hartigan get another run. His form deserves it. Lyons plays for Glenelg this week. Get him fit for next season.

Out- Thommo, Truck
In- Kerridge, Hartigan

Shaw can match up on a Jarrad Grant, Dylan Addison or Dan Giansiracusa a little more ably I feel. Liam Jones and Tom Campbell are the only two who Talia, Rutten and Otten can really play on.

Suddenly after 19 rounds everyone is agreeing with me.

Out - Thommo (FFS he's lame), Wright

In - Kerridge, Lyons (has had a nice rest)

I like the Hartigan for Truck (soreness) but it will just not happen.

I was delighted to see Sam Shaw back in the team (I did call for this a week ago). If he can stay fit, he is our future.

Expected changes, Out - Grigg, Johnson, Crouch (rest). In - Porplyzia, Callinan, Tambling

I agree with the comment on truck. If fit - will not be rested.
The rest is just evidence of why we didn't miss you much ;)

Without knowing the exact stats, I thought Wright did a decent job at curbing Well's influence in the 4th quarter, especially given he got them back into the game in the 3rd.

+1

See no reason to drop wright, in a game that i think will be pretty contested we will definitely need him. He was able to shut down wells, in addition to having 7 disposals at 100% efficiency in a quarter, he stays in for me. I would be inclined to send him to liberatore maybe? Cooney/Griffen may have a little too much speed tbh.

Not sure why you'd drop shaw also? Versatile and plus id really like him to play out the season. Been calling Rutten > Hartigan for a while now. Dont care whether we make the 8 through essendon stuffing up or not, just want to see what players are capable of.

Im not exactly sure what role andy otten played on the weekend. He was here, there and everywhere, but tbh i didnt mind his game. He was actually a threat up forward and competed well in the ruck for someone with no experience at all in order to give Jacobs a chop out.

Thompson for Kerridge/Lyons is also a must now surely...Wish Aiden Riley wasnt injured :( would really like to have seen him play a few games towards the end of the year. He would be a perfect replacement for Thommo.

We don't need to match up on Campbell. He prefers taking on the goal post.

They won't rest Rutten, and they'll play Thommo if they think he will have an impact (surely not after last week, from an outside view). They are trying to make finals still.

We might be in "next year" mode but they are clearly not.

Out: Thompson (injured)
In: Kerridge

They need to do something with the system into the forward line. We're gonna get belted by West Coast if theirs no improvement in the next two games.

Then there's the game after if we win ( most likely Richmond) We got problems with teams on fast rebound and their outside run, with their midfield we could get in trouble quite quickly. I don't think Kerridge is that person.
If its about this year then a more mature bodied mid would suffice (we have to many kids with stuff all pre seasons) I'd like to see the last 3 weeks as settled as possible.

To me thats fair enough.
You know its even possible to win only 2 of our next 3 and make the final 9.
Essendon will have no points by the end of today.
