I can honestly say I don't care what Hinkley or this side does anymore. Wingard dropping out of the side because of "signalling" (meaning he could have easily played if required) and playing Aaron Young in an 8 point game just shows exactly where these campaigners see this list. They don't think it's good enough, so why should I?

Where was this signalling in 13 - 14 - all bar the last month of 15 when Schulz was playing one legged every second week, or Robbie Gray can't run full steam, or...

**** it I'm over the double standards and the inconsistency of our 'no risk policy' too.

No change unless Wingards fit then take your pick who he replaces , Arch , Amon , Young .
Westhoff couldn't hit the side of a barn door from a set shot but he was still in our top 10 players on the night .
To me our worst were Pittard and Trengove with Pittard the one quickly running out of petrol tickets .
Amon, AhChee , Impey , we're all quiet but they didn't necessarily muck up .

In Houston, Howard Eddy
Out Hartlett Westhoff Young

If Monfries has a great game on Saturday I'd go Monfries for S Gray, but I'd like to see Monfries for Boak so that we can see a Tsunami shake up the place.

Every time we lose, unless its because we have 17 fit players on the day, an automatic 3 changes. Too many too comfortable in the midfield and forward line with a couple of defenders not so much comfortable but close to the edge.

Difficult to disagree:thumbsu:

Could be a 'defining selection' for Ken against the Hawkes. The 'same' always remains the 'same'.

Wouldn't go as far to say 3 changes at every loss - that's a bit over the top.

Gray Dixon Trengove

Monfries Howard Impey

Polec Wines Ebert

Houston Hombsch Pittard

DBJ Clurey Jonus

Ryder Boak Powell-Pepper

Bench

Broadbent/Hartlett (one off to be dropped) S.Gray (thin ice) Amon Ahchee (also on thin ice, doesn't yet warrant dropping)

CLOSE - Both of whom could force their way in with a big SANFL game.

Johnson - Palmer

So outs are

Westhtoff - Mentally weak, doesn't stand up under pressure and biggest under achiever on our list

Young - been in poor form for over a month and shouldn't have come back in

Broadbent/Hartlett - Both down hill skiers and not doing enough, initially was on dropping Hartlett but Broadbents stupid 50 he gave away hurt us badly.

Ah Chee is done as an AFL footballer at our club.

I am ultra keen to get Doogie into our side and want to see more of AJ and Palmer this year.

No Gus please, happy with his mentoring role in the SANFL.

This is utterly false.

"Low grade signalling" means Wingard has a calf strain without necessarily a discernible tear in the muscle. It means it's a low grade injury, however, if we played him he would've been at high risk of a calf tear which would result in a substantial lay off, and potentially chronic calf issues. Not playing him was absolutely the right call.

Oath. Selection night has become so predictable and consistently disappointing these days that there's no point in investing my time just thinking about it.

I'd like us to starting bleeding Dougal. Pick him ahead of Westhoff. Guys confidence is beyond repairable. Liability inside 50. Sure, floats back and helps out the back 6 but for a guy who's played 200+ games I'd want to see more than what he does.
Just spit balling here.

So would he or wouldn't he have been able to play if it was a final?

It's an indictment on Hamish because he is a gifted footballer, but he has to be dropped. Should have developed into an A grade mid by now, instead he has regressed into an overpaid poor man's half back flanker. Enough already.

What won't happen:

B: Jonas ~ Clurey ~ Hombsch
HB: Broadbent ~ Westhoff ~ Pittard
C: Hartlett ~ Ebert ~ Polec
HF: Monfries ~ Dixon ~ SPP
F: Impey ~ R. Gray ~ Palmer
R: Ryder ~ Wines ~ Boak
I: Trengove, DBJ, Ah Chee, Amon

Out: Young, S. Gray
In: Palmer, Monfries

Remember when Broady was dropped for so much less...? It's unbelievable he hasn't been dropped really?

I just can't bring myself to drop Westhoff. But just play him in the back 2/3 of the ground. He's still a top quality utility, just can't be trusted with a set shot. And Hartlett to a wing. He looks disinterested and lost in defence. Can still drift back and provide support, but being stationed there is just silly.

That's a team I could get excited about.

Can't agree with flankers out and in, need a FF so Dixon has someone to kick to.
Continual insistence on having a deep Gray is annoying me.

Well it's a different risk v benefit analysis for finals. There's less games to miss in the event of an injury.

I have no doubt if it was a grand final he'd play - he'd probably take the risk knowing it could come unstuck but there's an immediate break to rehabilitate in. But this is round 10. There's a lot of football to potentially miss from a preventable injury if he were to play.

He can't go in the middle for any length of time at the moment, so he either plays deep forward - where he's an above average player - or he doesn't play at all, unfortunately.

A 188cm high marker in Palmer is a superior forward option to Young or Sam. I think the Eddy boat has sailed and Marshall isn't ready.

Lol

If the Eddy boat has sailed, like what even?
