In: Pav, Sheridan
Out: Mzungu, Sutcliffe

If Ross brings Dawson back then I maybe someone like Ibbo might also be omitted.

Sutty and Ibbo were beyond bad. Mzungu just doesn't really cut the mustard anymore. Kudos to him for achieving 100 games

People who come under consideration to play: Pavlich, Dawson, Barlow, Sheridan, Tucker, Grey, Hannath, Sheridan.
People who come under consideration to not play: Hill (injury), Suban, Clarke, Mzungu, Langdon, Sutcliffe, Ibbo, Hughes

My changes In: Pavlich, Tucker, Sheridan
Out: Hill, Mzungu, Sutcliffe

Reality will be about 18% of what I've said.

Apeness with 2 goals for peel off 6 disposals (and 5 marks) is definitely steps in the right direction. Might not see him for freo until after the bye but he is building. Anyone know how long he was on the field for?
I was there for the last half and he scored a goal in that time but he was buggered at the end. He played about 15 or possibly 20 mins in total for the last half from what I saw. salim malik

Ross is only going to make the changes that he is forced to do because of injury and the 2 changes to the team that went to Tassie and they will be
Pav and Sheridan in.
Hill and Mzungu out .

Also agree entirely re: Clancee. Anybody demanding he be dropped are just playing favourites (well opposite of). 27 touches and most of them relatively clean. He also has a much better kick than MDB and Barlow who would be the only likely one's to come in for him.

C Pearce is another player who has stagnated under Lyon. There was a time when he was hoofing 50m accurate kicks out of the backline, ball getting, laying effective tackles or blocking for team mates.

I thought some of his inside work against Hawthorn really had that grunt we so desperately lack.

Pretty much what I'm thinking. That said Richmond have some talls so Dawson would be the other to consider, although we then go too tall and it might be Clarke who comes out for Dawson with Dawson giving Griff a chop.

With the injury to Hill I think RTB will give Sheridan and Sutcliffe time in the midfield to see how they go .
Smith did himself no favors in the Souths game and those talking up Collins need to take a big breath . Barlow and DeBoer will remain playing for Peel.
Tucker needs to be given time to develop .He is learning that his game must go to a higher level to play AFL .He is a good kid and I think he will be a very good player within the next 2\3 years .

I actually don't mind letting collins , Smith have a taste of Afl to let them know how high Afl standard is if we are seriously consider getting ride of players.

Meima ,
Smith would not have filled you with confidence with his performance against Souths and Collins is in his element if opposition teams bomb the ball into their forward line but he has no speed to go with a fast hard running forward of similar build .Collins doesn't have Dawsons closing speed but he is a better kick .Just made the one mistake when he tried to kick a 30 metre pass in the last quarter .He would be in serious trouble against some one like Brown from NM ,Cammeron or Lobb from the Giants .

Agree with what you say about Collins and Smith. Collins went missing when he was needed in Q4 and Smith was ordinary all day. But if Ross punts Grey back to the WAFL for poor disposal and decision making, despite his energy and involvement, and let's Sutcliffe stay after that effort (let's face it, his game has been off for a long time now but that was startlingly bad) then he is simply playing favourites
On the subject of Grey, I think his efforts at AFL level were better than what he served up yesterday. Hope he gets his spark back.

Basically our recruiter is pretty bad , recruite injured and not ready player. How long pav and Dawson going to keep playing until they got nothing left.

Not a bad squad. I would bring in Dawson as we need 3 talks at the back. Put him in mundys spot in the back pocket. Take clancee Pearce out and put mundy there.

I like your squad you put up. There's grey in the back line being protected by spurr and ibbo. Weller and Langdon can be rotated on a forward flank, wing and a spot on the bench.

I am not sure why you said stagnated under Lyon - Pearce was on the delist pile before Lyon came along; Lyon resurrected his career and was his coach at his peak and doing all those things.

I Agree. I have been harsh on Clancee but at least he took care with his disposals yesterday. His biggest issue is the time to make decisions or otherwise dispose of the ball, which puts himself under pressure.

That sloppy kick in from Sutcliffe really annoyed me and there was another one earlier in the game in which he just didn't take necessary care. I know Sutcliffe is a decent kick but he needs to take much higher priority on disposing of the ball with greater care and precision. He really rushed that horrible kick and the result a horrible turnover. He must be sent back to peel.

With how well peel playing, I believe sutty will be welcome with open arms.

If Pav is to play this week a new role should be found for him. I would like to see him return to an old role, that of key defender.
One our deficiencies at the moment is the terrible kicking out of defence. Pav is one of our very best field kicks and would vastly improve this situation. As defenders by and large don't have to do as much running as all the other players it may enable him to put in a full 4 quarter effort, something he is struggling with at the moment.
Alternatively for the Richmond game he could be used as a decoy come defensive forward assigned to Rance.

Beat me by a few minutes as I was about to post this. I think we showed signs of better rebound out of Defense against Hawthorn although the wind did not help. The problem with Dawson is still the same but we need at least one more KPD for Richmond. I would like it to be Pav. It gives Taberner more contests to learn from, addresses a weakness in defense and allows us to have more forward pressure which Pav struggles with now when the ball is on the deck. Let Langdon and co run around there and put the pressure on. Would be happy to see Pav play out the year in defense and provide that experience and cool head to build confidence in our rebound.

You are right, except that a number of players improved under Lyon initially but went backwards over time.

In the last two years, injuries aside, C Pearce has stopped playing his natural game and become a another zombie role player along with half the squad.

Think that's spot on. However quite small in defence. Have to consider that against Griffiths and Vickery, the back would get mauled in the air. Collins isn't in good form for Peel so think he's at least a few weeks away. Replace him with Dawson and that's good to go.

100% disagree with this. Why would we do this? Pav has been a plug the holes player for many games at Freo, we shouldn't be giving him this role in his final year. He should stay in the forward line and continue to mentor Taberner and Apeness should he get his shot.

Going back so we have someone who can distribute better is a joke. If the current crop can't do it, then we're simply done. Give someone that role and give them 12-15 games to get it sorted.

We've made a start with Mundy.
