If Pav is to play this week a new role should be found for him. I would like to see him return to an old role, that of key defender.
One our deficiencies at the moment is the terrible kicking out of defence. Pav is one of our very best field kicks and would vastly improve this situation. As defenders by and large don't have to do as much running as all the other players it may enable him to put in a full 4 quarter effort, something he is struggling with at the moment.
Alternatively for the Richmond game he could be used as a decoy come defensive forward assigned to Rance.

Interesting idea to send Pav to the back line and certainly nothing to be lost. He could still play some time deep forward (in the goal square) to have a bit of a rest. It's interesting Nick Riewold is playing up the ground this year and going well. Getting a few goals as a bonus to so why not think outside the square with Pav?

Out: Suban, Hill, Mzungu
In: Tucker, Pav, Sheridan

Tucker plays halfback, Sherro gets a run in the middle with Hill out and Pav back in at FF. Clarke gets one more week

With Sutcliffe devoid of confidence and Hilly injured, I think there will be two changes. No doubt Sheridan will return and then we need to consider Hilly's replacement - DeBoer, Barlow or Tucker? DeBoer the most inform of the trio but only Tucker has the kicking skills we are looking for - tough choice. If you are trying to win then probably Barlow or DeBoer but if you are looking for a better alternative going forward then Tucker even though he wont get as many possessions.

We are really running out of talent and need an injection of Bennell, Yarren, Sandi, Apeness, Morabito and Johnno fast!!!

Woulda loved if yarren was back for us! Haha.

In: Sheridan for Muzugu
De boer rewarded for consistency in wafl otherwise Barlow.
Pav cause pav

Out: muz cause he's wafl now
Hill injured
Clarke needs to grow a pair and attack the ball

Players of interest
Suban is needed to ruff up / limit dusty or lids
Langdon needs to have a better game in my opinion.
Hughes does great things and bad things haha, Ross seems to like him.
Weller is awesome, almost established I think
Blakely is building, think it'll take him a while to get to his best and get used to afl.
If Tabs has a good game again I'll like it very much
Crozier needs to keep up his ok form or better. Liked his attack on the ball recently.
A Pearce is established I think.
C Pearce was little better than expected. Keep it up
D Pearce was down but he provides a bit in my opinion.
Griff wasn't as good as he was against Mumford but took the required 4th quarter marks in defence
Ummm I think that's all the players of interest. Mayne and ballaz could also be thrown in but they won't be dropped.

Its going to take some serious effort to win this. They are going with 3 talls up forward. Riewoldt, Vickery and Griffiths.

I'm suggesting Alex Pearce on riewoldt. Dawson vs Vickery should be dud vs dud. Mundy should go on Griffith. Or do we bring in smith or debut Collins as a 3rd tall

Its the same shit week in week out, players go back to Peel get 30+ possessions and come straight back into the team, then get played out of position or dont play to team standards and get dropped again!

De Boer, Suban, Barlow, Mzungu, CPearce, Langdon and Blakely are all midfielders that can rack up big numbers for Peel AS MIDFIELDERS, bringing them in to play as a forward or defender is pointless!

You need to be able to play more than one position to survive in AFL these days. This is where Walters, Fyfe, Bennell etc are invaluable.

In: Sheridan, Pav, Dawson

Out: Suban, Hill, Mzungu

No you dont at all, and if you can doesnt automatically put you above players that cant, LNeale case in point! I do see your point though, its just giving the same guys the chance to prove that they can has worn thin on me!

I guess it would help if the injury list didn't dictate the way the team was picked as much as it does!

Neale can play forward, so if needed he could rest there.

I agree, there is no one banging down the door at WAFL level. I guessing having 6+ players from your starting 22 out of your side means that the options start to get very thin.

As long as I see Suban out I will be happy.

C Pearce is another player who has stagnated under Lyon. There was a time when he was hoofing 50m accurate kicks out of the backline, ball getting, laying effective tackles or blocking for team mates.

I thought some of his inside work against Hawthorn really had that grunt we so desperately lack.

If it wasn't for Lyon, he would be fat and playing in the WAFL

Possession is pointless if against strong WAfL opposition you can't help the team to win.

Exactly, DeBoer and Barlow had almost 80 possessions between them and Peel got spanked! Teams and structures win games of football not 1 or 2 players!
Look at the players that were around them. Grey, Tucker, Collins and Apeness
Blakely, Suban, Mzungu, Clancee Pearce and Langdon were all playing WAFL last week or week before. That's a fair few changes. Was an inexperienced Peel team. So wouldn't based the result on how they went. They still contributed and found the footy, which is why they are playing in the WAFL in the first place.
