Outs Hutch, Masten, Waterman
Ins Shuey, Ainsworth, Petch

As we all know Ryan is due back after the bye.. Id go Ahchee out.

That would be a good option. Less $ per year would free up more for Gaff. At the start of the year I would have said Gov is priority but Gaff is ahead now. One of the best mids in the comp.

WCE could free up cap space to retain Gaff by not re-signing one or both of LeCras and Mackenzie.

Shuey plays

I want an absolute smashing of the Saints.

No repeat of 2017 thanks

My concern with this upcoming home game versus the Saints is that our boys won't mentally be switched on and that WC will inexplicably drop a game they should never lose because of it... much like a machine-like WC dropping a home game to lowly Brisbane in 2007.

I'm sorry but Sheed is a bog average player. Everyone harps on about how we could have drafted Fyfe instead of Shep but Sheed instead of Cripps will hurt us more.

It wouldn't be a 2018 changes thread without at least a couple of campaigners calling for Waterman to be dropped or rested.
The dude hasn't put a foot wrong and is a pretty integral part of the function of our forward line this year.
Unless he gets injured or his form drops off a cliff indicating fatigue, I dont' see him going anywhere.

Its more rested than dropped. And it would be rare for a first year player to not be rested at some stage

I have a baseless feeling that we'll rest NN next week.

Out: NN (rest), Hutch (omitted), Ah Chee (omitted)
In: Fraser (yes, I said it, wanna fight me?), Shuey, Petch

If any of the forwards are remotely battered, Brander will get a go too.

I expect there might be a some strategic changes due to the break and some resting but could also see us going with minimal changes

Shuey in is simple - he needs the run and he is one of a few that do not need to come back through WAFL

Yeo looked fine and played well so unless he’s sore - stays in and recovers over the break

Masten out injured is possible but I am surprising myself saying he warrants staying in the side

Rioli out for the Razor Ray bum tap is a chance but it should only be a fine given last 2 weeks tribunal findings

Ah Chee will be lucky to keep his spot but the MC may want him to get a longer shot at it. Ryan back after the break will put the acid test on our smaller forwards. Parto seems out of favour but could be a chance while Petrucelle would be my pick as the Saints are rather one paced and could shine.

I don’t think Saints have a player we need to tag so Hutchings is a strong possible out. I think we only select him if he has a set role as his skills do not warrant inclusion.

I would be happy dropping Sheed to let him work on hitting targets. His kicking around the corner and no look kicks are unacceptable and he needs to go back to WAFL and rectify a flaw in his game. If he continues to play as he has done in the last 2 weeks, he will eventually start costing us dearly.

M Allen and J Brander have put together a decent stretch of work that would justify inclusion. Not sure they will get a game but a nice problem to have.

This! Plus it's essential we get games into him. It's his first season and he is playing as well as anyone playing in that position...can only get better.

If Parto has been told to work on his defensive game then 5 & 7 tackles over the last two weeks should go some way to getting him back in the good books. Can Parto wing? If so a Parto IN for Masten (inj/rested) would be rewarding WAFL form. I know his two way running has been questioned in the past though.

Yes but the calls have been made every round since pretty much round 1. If his form shows he needs a rest (which may well happen later in the year) then by all means rest him, but I haven't seen anything in his game suggesting he needs a rest yet every week there are plenty calling for it.

Yes I tend to think Yeo might be up for a rest this week. So Shuey in for him.
Masten may also get a rest if they suspect a tight string.
Shep- always plays sore so not sure he will get a rest but if he does Nelson comes in- can also play wing if required.
Hutch or Sheed- at least one has to go as we cant carry 2 hackers. Im thinking Hutch most likely with Ainsworth to come in (although with his skills, is this swapping like for like?)
I'd definitely be looking to bring Petch in somewhere. perhaps for Masto if rested or perhaps Ahchee but suspect they will want to give Sneeze at least 1 more game to establish a form line- he could also move to a wing and Petch to HFF.

Simpson said a few boys need a refresh, might be a couple of changes

Out Waterman (managed), Yeo (rested -knee), Masten (hamstring)
In Pet, Shuey, Ainsworth

Might be different changes due to what simpson said. From Ahchee 2nd half I would have dropped him (too fumbly plus not fit enough), but he might gain some confidence against the saints

Maybe Simmo can sit down for a coffee with Gil, and see if we can be allowed to have a few extra spots on the bench from now on.

good problems :)

What about the blocking Hawks got away with and they paid that joke one against Lycett to Sicily

Elliot, Brad, Andrew and maybe Shannon could do with a rest. Think there will be 3-4 changes this week as we’ll give a few boys that are sore a well earned siesta.

AOW xox

Bye the following week no rest required. Only if they are carrying an injury. We don't take any team lightly and we should be trying to get our percentage up because usually a slump will occur at some time ( sydney, adelaide, coll all away games)and we will probably need it to finish top 2

That ridiculous pass in the first quarter had me screaming at him. Lost confidence in his own ability after missing one earlier
