Sorry to intrude hope game goes well.

I hope your selection panel is more knowledgeable than Rowe saying Pods definite stays in.

Not my business but he looked knackered after half time.

Picking up the ball and lining up for goal in the last quarter he looked like he could barely run or bend over and pick up the ball

After the week has settled - here are my ins/outs:

Out: Porps/Crouch (inj)
Ins: Laird/Crouch

That is what I believe Sando will do... He will back in the majority of the players one last time.

What I would like to see personally:

Out: Crouch (inj)
In: Laird

Give Porps one final crack. Set him a target.. 20 possies and a goal. If he doesn't achieve this its career over.... Have Mookay as the sub.

Welcome back Sando. Why am I so surprised that you want to retain Porplyzia, JPod etc ?

Well, playing an older and more experienced team like you suggested last week certainly worked a treat, let's do it again.

What is the definition of insanity???????????????????

I really hope that if we play Crouch the younger, we do it from the start of the game. He is NOT the type to be a sub.
A sub player needs the ability to run with pace and in bursts that the tired players can't go with. BoB is an accumulator - he is not suited to a sub role.
I fear we are still to dumb to realise what the sub role really needs. Playing Porps in that role is just plain stupid. One can only hope we figure it out at some stage in the next two years.

Damn right - and it's the same reason we shouldn't play Lyons in that role; even though he's performed well when we have.

Make either D-Mac or Charlie Cameron the Sub; but not as a 'last chance saloon' thing - which is a completely bullshit, stupid thing to do anyway - use them as a weapon.

PS - Pods is shit.

You mean he shouldn't be keeping out the guy who has kicked 1 goal in 3 SANFL trial matches? If this is who we are hoping to bring in to fix our forward line woes, we are in even worse trouble than I thought.

We need to persist with Pods, McKernan, Johnston because there is nobody else. Let them have 5-6 games together. See what happens.

Jenkins has potential and a future; Pods doesn't.

Not only is it a waste of time playing him, it's detrimental to us as we are depriving Jenkins of further game time.

It's the Brodie Martin shit again; back Jenkins in, get him in the side, and leave him there - or we'll be sitting here in two years with him having player another ~8 games and nobody knowing whether he's up to it or not.

Your probably right but I think he will play. I seen him at all parts of the ground on Saturday, never with the ball but that suggest he is covering too much ground and trying to play like Riewoldt. He needs to stay closer to goal and provide a target like he was recruited to do.

I just can't believe the complete lack of composure from Dangerfield there. It's not just him. Our players seem to shit their pants even when there isn't any pressure.

If our players ever get constipated all they need to do is to imagine the pressure of playing in a Showdown, sure it will clear out the rectum.

Here he is. Another amazing contribution from our very own Nostradamus who has been predicting for 3 years that every older player on our list is past it and then regurgitating how he was right about one or two of them.

Tell me more about your amazing predictions that Rutten/Pods won't play in our next flag.

The reason I want to retain Porps for this game is so that there are no illusions that he is past it. Quite simple logic really. As I have said all along we needed to give Porps 3 games in a row with no excuses to determine whether the game has gone passed him. All we know now is that he had 1 shit game - then came played one quarter of a side that was getting thumped. What I am scared of is that we will be seduced into playing Porps again later on in the season when his SANFL form is very good. Play him against Sydney - if he fails again its career over no matter what his SANFL form is like.

To Pods. Of course I think he should be left in. He should get 5+ games. New club, new structure, new environment.

To the bolded part. If you think that playing Jenkins over Pods and having M Crouch play a quarter instead of Porps would have made any difference you are as intelligent as your previous posting suggests.

Pods is definitely playing. Could you imagine if LJ and Smacko got the number 1 and 2 defenders?

I don't mind if they play Pods as a stay at home in the goal square FF and Jenkins as a work up the ground CHF. With only one of LJ or Smack.

Don't make the old guy run up and down the ground. JJ has the ability for this.

Drop Porps for Cameron... he can't be worse than Porps.

We are tearing each other apart on here, but the AFC just motors along as if everything is fine and rosey.

It would be good to see Sando and the team hurting, but everyone is just continuing along the status quo.

The most I have ever seen Sando angry was when he pushed the Truck over against the Doggies, while we dont need that, we need him to fire up.

But that sounds like common sense. :thumbsu:

But thats not how the Crows roll.

This is nothing like what happened with Brodie Martin.

Jenkins has played the following blocks:

4 out of 5 games from rounds 7-12 in 2012 followed by a 3 week rest.
6 games in a row from rounds 16-21
17 out of 18 games in 2013 until he broke his leg.

We know what Jenkins is capable of. He is a 25years old. If he isn't dominating the SANFL reserves games he is playing in then he shouldn't be in consideration until he does.

Pods has been shit for the first 2 games. Need to give him 5 games before we rule him out.

I honestly think half of this board are suffering from PCSD (Post Craig Stress Disorder). This isn't a settled experienced team that has young players tearing it up in the SANFL. This is a young underperforming team that has a big injury list.

and he got that contract by bending down real low and rubbing the Chairman's b@ll$ til he smiled, then jumped up real high, stood on a chair and kissed Sando on the forehead... and a wonderful friendship was born

Do you think attacking me improves your argument?

Last week you declared that we needed older and more experienced players. Well did they add a great deal to our performance. So many people said to me after the match, "Thank god we had JPod, Rutten, Porps and Reilly or that would have been embarrassing"........ Not

I have no doubt that Truck is likely to perform a little better than Hartigan this week. Truck will be slow and fumble whilst Hatigan's lack of experience will result in some bad turnovers, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. Hartigan, CEY and Lyons are not 18 year old kids. Are we hoping to limit it to a 10 goal loss on Saturday? It's time to build for our next flag (well the time was actually three years ago).

Still no Laird.......

Thanks CE - should be a replacement for B Crouch though?
Has to be Laird doesn't it ??

I said it earlier in the week, I think we will go small this week

OUT:
Mckernan- might be due to injury, may not. But he won't play. Jenkins to come in. This is definitely not the last we will see of Smack, he had a good pre season, and I still think he can make it, he may have been injured last week which explains why we didn't see much of him

Shaw- gets opened up by defenders, and so does Reilly. Shaws decision making pretty bad aswell

Crouch- injury. One crouch for another this week. Almost like when Mark Waugh replaces Steve Waugh

Porpoise- collingwood game last year has been his only good game in a long time

LJ- effort last week was bad. Some posters on here believe he is footy smart to go along with his kicking...disagree completely. Not smart enough to get to the right spots, not smart enough to use the ball well up the field, and not smart enough to realise he has to work harder. Would be playing if we didn't have pods, but irrelevant, as they are both gone when tex returns. And is this guy even a good kick?

INS:
Matt crouch
Laird
Petrenko
Jenkins
Lyons or Hartigan (depends if they think Reilly can take a third forward)

Reallt hope these are the changes, especially Matt crouch. And let's hope he doesn't get the green vest
