Players that will be on notice imo:

Hendo, Otten, Reilly, Thommo, VB, Sauce, Crouch, Kerridge, Jenkins.

Christ, thats nearly half the team, massive problems.

Ins:

A new attitude and some hard efforts.

Callinan needs a KPF to crumb from, if not he makes no impact.

Needs to be at the ball drop more like, instead of sitting in the pocket spectating the slingshot.
Richmond are in as good a form as anyone and the exact same tactics will happen against Richmond.
There is no defensive side to that forward line..

We got some fools talking about Petrenko getting no tackles though that's hilarious, the balls down Sydneys forward line most the game and Petrenko is injured from not squibbing the contest like most crows did.

Great game between Saints Eagles ATM.

Are we the worst team in the AFL for playing fast, open, attacking rebounding footy??

Adelaide have no rebound as the mids have no defensive stopping ability so their opponents hit up targets with no pressure, there is no rebound if they hit easy lead out targets.

It's always interesting reading these threads.

Everyone who played is somehow talentless. Everyone who didn't play is full of ability and essential skills.

Wash, rinse, repeat.
Agreed that it's easy to be emotional and reactive after a loss. Which is why it needs to be patterns that you look for when making selection decisions, not week-to-week form.

It's been long enough this season for some patterns to emerge and this result might be the tipping point for us acting on them.

I agree with the premise of bringing in Grigg, but probably not twice ;)

And Ellis Yolmen is no chance of coming in. He's playing reserves footy FFS.

Lyons, Grigg and Brown have to come in.

Who goes out is anyones guess.

With Shaun Grigg's kicking skills it'll be like you've got two Griggs out there anyway :D

Anyway, how serious is Jacobs' knee and who's in line to replace him? It seems most have him listed to play.

Stiffy has kicked 4 today, if he doesn't play this week - his card has been stamped do not play again.
I have heard from a friend who is close to a Port magpies player that stiffy understands how hard it is to get in the Crows team and appears quite OK with that. Apparently is not overly fussed by not being selected, and is happy enough to run around with Port maggies. If this is the case and also Stiffy's attitude... and I have no reason to disbelieve my mate nor his source...then the stiffmeister is finished:(.

Yes I suspect if this is the case he may have worked out himself that he's no longer really capable of AFL. I understand he had a pretty good preseason by his standards and he was hoping it would help him perform, but he found he it was harder than ever and that in fact he actually enjoyed playing for the Maggies more.

Or he's just putting up a brave face and is secretly burning inside at the fact he's not in the side. Only he and perhaps those closest would truly know.

Yeah it must be tough with the team absolutely flying and performances from 1 to 22...

Selection is tough again this week so many players like Reilly and Nathan van Berlo leading from the front and putting in consistent efforts week in, week out. consistently bad efforts

Stiffy won't be back unless he's worked on the defensive side of his game and is prepared to work hard- not just run forward of the play for easy kicks.
Which is really a bit ridiculous seeing as we've carried a guy who can't tackle all year and just brought in another who looks like he's running on the spot...

OUT
Petrenko (inj)
Porplyzia
Reilly

IN
Lyons
Jaensch- forward
Wright- defensive forward role

Lynch and Henderson to swap positions.

Out: Jenkins, van Berlo, Porplyzia, Reilly, Otten, Kerridge,
In: Competent players

And they are?????
If we dont have a player that can be substituted then its a bit stupid trying to drop all of these guys. I like the idea of getting the youngsters and giving them a real go but you cant swap all of them in one hit

Why do people want to swap lynch and henderson?!?
Am i seeing things? o_O
lynch has been one of a few big positives for us so far this year, and we want to move him from the fwd line?
Make no mistake, the forward line is the hardest spot to play in todays game, followed by the midfield, and then defence. Why would we dislodge a player that racks up possessions on a forward flank, and slot him in on a half back flank? We already have 25 back flankers, but very few who have the football ability to play forward.

This are the changes that should happen:
Out: callinan, Kerridge, VB
In: Wright, Brown, Mackay

These are the changes that will happen:
Out: callinan/kerridge, henderson
In: Mackay, Brown

And no guys, we are not going to drop jenkins, ffs overreaction much?
We wont win this years flag, but we need jenkins to develop, especially his ruck work

Players that shouldnt be dropped as we look to our team next year:
danger
Douglas
sloane
Vince
thompson
talia
lynch
jenkins
Mackay
smith
Jacobs
Mckernan (for trade value)

Young players that should be rotated in/out between each other (i.e. never have them all in at once):
kerridge
crouch
lyons
brown
laird
Grigg

Players that are fighting for spots with each other:
Otten/shaw/henderson
Riley/martin/wright/
porpoise/callinan
Reilly/Jaensch/henderson

players that i dont know where to put:
VB
Pup
Rutten (simply because i dont know whether truck will play on another year)

Players that are finished:
johncock
