Chris Bryan vs Cam Cloke

Was reading a thread on one of related team's boards, and they were pissing the other, saying he left said club and was now a dud. Both traded from one team to the other, both have had to shoulder a bigger burden than they should have to, with injuries to teams #1 ruck at different stages. Who would you prefer; will both be gone soon and will either "make it" as a good player?

Cloke, he is very useful around the ground. Takes a good grab, and likes to kick a goal.

Agree, There more VFL Players then AFL Players but I think Cloke it better then Bryan

Nah, I don't see him as a disappointment because we gave nothing away for him.

I actually reckon Cloke could go alright at CHF. He had a 4 goal game taking some big grabs in round 21. He's very capable of playing forward.

Both can have their moments of brilliance (very loose use of the word), but both can be absolutely terrible. I'd say Cloke is probably a tad better, but I wouldn't swap back, I like Bryan (for off-field reasons though).

Cloke is an undersized ruckmand and Bryan is an uncon in the see how many times he misses it when jumping for it? but Collingwood have two good ruckman anyways and Carlton do aswel now Cloke will probably play CHF so I'll take him

I think Bryan is being a bit under-rated(jeez, when using the word with a hack like him just sounds wrong) i mean he's okish, and has a great kick on him for a big bloke.

People over-rate Bryans kicking, I said this even when he was with us. They went on about I seen him at the Bullants kick out 70m, tried to have a shot from 60 out in the seniors put it on the full.

Bryan probably the better ruck man, but Cloke has the leap, can take a better grab, and is not seen as part of our future ruck plans he is seen as a forward, something Bryan would not be able to do

If Cam Cloke is part of your forward plans, you're in a bit of trouble. Cloke's problem is that he's really a ruckman in a KPP's body. Not tall enough to be a frontline ruck, not athletic enough to play a KPP.

Handy utility is all Cam will ever be.

Im not sure why everyone has gone the other was, i would have to say Bryan.

Cloke is playing marginally better at the blues than he did at the pies, but hes still excruciating to watch. not a natural ruckman and isnt brilliant in front of goal. Has the remarkable ability to fall over whenever he was near the ball.... god i hated that....

Bryan has more presence in the ruck, prob a bit slow around the ground. Has showed promise as a pinch hitter in front of goal. Has kicked a few when needed, inc IIRC West Coast Final in 07.

Prob with both is with non-injured rucks, neither would get a game....

Rather Fraser, Krezuer (?), Wood and Warnock above both of them.

You just made the boldest bits up, didn't you? In the 2008 season Cloke kicked 14.6 from his 20 games, while Bryan kicked 4.1 from his 17 games. Cloke, if he works on his aerobic fitness, is capable of playing predominantly as a forward. We tried that with Bryan a couple of times in his time at Carlton, but he was all at sea.

As an overall player i'd say Cloke. Has the ability to push forward and work around the ground. However that game where Hodge felt it was safe to leave Cloke to double up on Fev was a shocker.

Bryan is a decent 2nd Ruck man? or is he Collingwood's first preference because I see Fraser as a better utility than ruck man. Fills the void until Wood is 100%
