It was a fantastic game by Chris, I honestly thought he wouldn't make it after watching him in the Wizard Cup, but after today's game, he looks like he's gonna be a star. Though, unlike most other first gamers, he is 23 years old, and is too old for the rising star.

Glad another VFL player is finding his way into the AFL.

It must bring hope to some of the young kids coming through the VFL when you see former VFL players, not picked up as TAC Cup players, playing well in the AFL.

Difference being that Walker is 19 with a developing body while Bryan is the perfect age for a ruckman to launch a career.

Walker will be better than Bryan.

Most young ruckman play their first couple of years in the reserves anyway. Clubs should skavage the VFL more often..

The posters of Bigfooty must be going soft! No-ones bagging this guy. I'm not either..I think it's great to see VFL players given a go..it's an untapped resource that AFL clubs just don't want to seem to give a true opportunity to. We've seen Bryan, Deluca, Hudson (Crows) and Mahoney (Power) succeed (that come to mind) over 2004/05.

Bryan gets a few pats on the back in this thread, but if he fails next season, he will get held up as an example of poor recruiting, probably by some on this thread. If Bryan doesn't kick on from here, it will not be Pagan's doing, the same as the mire De Luca finds himself in this season. We have picked up some possibles with picks in the 70's the past couple of years.
