Except Fyfe is hopeless set shot at goal.

He's not really, kicked 3 this week. Grand final beat up.

Yeo is a similar player, but he's a boy at the moment. Fyfe is easily the best midfielder in the league at the moment, incredibly consistent and does things which no other player can do - certainly not any other midfielder. He also has nearly 10 kg on Yeo.

10 kg i highly doubt that

Having a blinder a against the bottom side, who had 25 players available, at home......does not constitute comparisons with fyfe. I also note masten's blinder, it must be his 8th break out game. Previous break out games we against melbourne at subi (100pt win) GWS at subi (100pt win). Cold shower please. Nothing was done to break the flat track bully tag on saturday, only a win by less than 30pts at home will shake that tag.

Played well against Port the week before as well, thanks for paying attention for more than one game though.

Such transparent jealousy

Mods please lock this shit - WC supporters always have to make us look silly on BF as soon as we win a couple of games.

Na f**k that! We gon win d flag man, we r d bestz (I am currently applying for the role of West Coast social media manager)

Way too soon, although I did do a quick stats compare for this year, and Fyfe is killing Yeo for contested possessions, clearances, and inside 50's. Yeo definitely has the potential to go close to Fyfe, not sure he'll go past him though.

Yeo playing in the backline for the first month of the year wouldn't have helped his stats.

Still has a ways to go to catch Fyfe anyway, but the signs over the last few weeks are impressive.

In fairness, can only play who gets put in front of us on a weekly basis...

Are you saying a win by under 30 points against GC on the weekend would have been better?

Why can't you make a comparison ? They are similar player's after all, No one is truly stating he is better than Fyfe but been 21 he is showing a similar output to fyfe at the same age, I remember how your board use to carry on about Fyfe when he was showing glimpses of the player he has become, By the way this is your season for the taking don't blow it !!

Fyfe is a better contested mark, better at breaking tackles, better at finding the ball, has a bigger tank and he is untaggable compared to Yeo who hasn't had to deal with a tag.

I think we are all very excited to have a mid with so much potential and they do have certain attributes that are similar but comparing Fyfe to a player who is the best in the competition by a long way atm is just asking to be laughed at. Maybe one day but not now.

99 times out of a 100 - you'd rather that bloke be offensive - ie Yeo...

This is where we'd need a Rowan Jones. Superb in the air, strong over the ball, diligent team ethos ... ummm... that is it

Would be the perfect prototype tagger for Fyfe.

Bad call, terrible call.

Its like saying Jones was the prototype tagger for Goodes at his peak.

He wasn't.

WC elected to go head to head, Judd vs Goodes.

Unfortunately, we don't quite have a Judd at the moment.

P.S. I can't believe we have allowed this thread on our Board, WTF are we thinking.

Goodes and Fyfe are significantly different footballers with different strength

Goodes has nothing on Fyfe's inside contested work - nor despite his height, the same aerial strength - though he was good at this as well.

Goodes relied on others to do the heavy contested work whilst he ran like the wind ahead of the ball. He would be more akin to Stephen Hill, then Nathan Fyfe

Note I said "it was like saying Jones was a prototype tagger for Goodes". He ain't and nor is/would he have been for Fyfe.

Fyfe would have murdered him.

Fyfe is a different realm to Jones - so no doubt he would have won the battle. But it isn't about Jones winning, rather about limiting influence. Keeping Fyfe to 6 clearances and a goal as opposed to 12 clearances and 4 goals.

Jones got the match up on Kouta at times and did well - which would be the most apt comparison to Fyfe

There is a lot in common with the 2 and Fyfe is the best player in the competition. What a refreshing post in that we are comparing a young Eagles with the best. For what it is worth, there is a lot physically in common and so far Yeo is stepping up. In terms of statistical analysis, Yeo spent more time early in the season in defence so I expect the comparison to a midfielder to be lower. Here is a season to date and an extrapolation on Yeo for 2015 versus Fyfe for 2013 which is his same age equivalent.

Take away points:
Fyfe had more kicks, more clearances and more contested possessions.
So far Yeo takes more marks, he is a lot more effective, less clangers, more makrs inside 50 and more 1%'ers.

You saying Yeo does nothing like Fyfe and you want thread torn down . Thread doesnt say yeo is better its what yeo brings to our team is similar to what fyfe does so explain why you want thread torn down

Never said anything of the sort about .

But happy to be quoted its premature saying "what yeo brings to our team is similar to what fyfe does".

I am excited by Yeo, but lets not get carried away. As well as being the games best midfielder, Fyfe could hold down CHF and would probably be the best in the game at the moment. Only injury will prevent him from being one of the all time greats of the game.

Yeo is smaller, less athletic midfielder (with great straight line speed) that got hold of a weakened GC.

Until then he had been highly promising.

Perhaps the digression b/n our views revolves on just how similar the qualities are that Fyfe brings to Freo and Yeo brings to WC.
