News Coaches Votes (AFLCA champion player of the year)

King actually clarified on SEN today was that he meant Mitchell will get forced out of the centre bounce more often with Nick dominating.
It is still a dumb thing to say. You need more than 1 player in at the centre bounce... believe it or not you actually need 3 midfielders minimum. Tom Mitchell is definitely in our top 3 clearance / centre bounce players. Daicos, JDG, Mitchell are our main 3 surely. What its more likely to do is impact the centre bounce minutes of our 2nd string crew i.e. Crisp, Pendles, Adams etc.

Interesting that Cox and Quaynor have more votes than Crisp, who's tied with Frampton.

Fly would definitely have given Josh a vote because he was named as our coaches MVP. Reckon maybe Moore as well by Fly because I am not sure Longmuir was a fan and his intercepts kept us in it in the 1st when our clearances were way down. Fly would have recognised that.

not sure how adams got a 5. Had two clangers that directly led to Freo goals, and looked a liability with ball in hand again... except when being fed set shots. Even his handball to Ash in the clear was 2 metres in front of his feet. His run and grunt work is helping wear down the opposition though, but please keep him away from anywhere behind center line, so that his turnovers cant be so costly

Worst take. Was by far and away our best in the first half when the game was there to be won.

Was clear bog at half time, when junk time began. For all the criticism of his disposal, he's actually 2nd in the league for goal assists this year. He tries to do too much a couple of times a game, but he also often does a lot.

his workrate is v good, and is getting him into positions to distribute to goal kickers, but I'd much rather any other midfielder / wingman delivering the ball to our forwards tbh. Ive always said he is more a forward pocket / high HF than midfielder, and I think Fly agrees... as he now has the arsenal to fill midfield spots with high end quality. But I also cant forget the turnovers, as it is what brings most sides undone. & Its what separates the good from great players... ala pendles and ND
