You would expect so, if he plays football this year it will only be for Coburg anyway.

Re: Cogs done for ever-move on

How many years off is that now - 4 ?

FLIckn LMAO.

Who actually believes he will play again ?

Re: Cogs done for ever-move on

Not I ... and if he does it will be charity

Don't underestimate this guy's desire, commitment and capacity for work. He'll get back in some capacity. Anyway, how can you be against Cogs in your post, but your signature is Cog?

he'll be back this year, there is still over 3 months to go. He hasn't torn the hammy off the bone like lloyd, its just recurring soreness, no doubt the lay off will be extensive (4-6 perhaps?) but I think he will play football again this year

the club will have a good indication in the next 6 weeks or so.
if he comes back & plays towards the end of the year they will persist with him but if he continues to have trouble the club will need to move on
3 years is more than reasonable i think. hope he comes good though

Depends alot on how much he is costing us. I'm happy to keep a spot on the list for him if he is cheap, put him on 60k a year 15k a game with other performance bonuses . :thumbsu: not much risk there because we can always elevate a rookie.

He deserves one more year.

He'll be back, he was leading our best & fairest when he went down with the first knee, so it'll be 2 1/2 seasons he's missed if he doesn't play at all this year. He's contracted for next year so he'll be right.

I feel sorry for the bloke.. I mean yeah you cant get anymore unluckier really...

This is really starting to smell like a "potentially brilliant career cut down by injury" modern tragedy to me...
I hope he punches through and gets 6 - 8 games at Coburg later this year, followed by a full pre-season in preparation for 2009.
What worries me for Cogs sake though is that by then, with some of our younger guys stepping up to the plate, he may not necessarily be 1st, 2nd or 3rd picked for the engine room next year.
What other position could he fill?
HFF like Brodders late in his career?

The way I look at it, the hammies aren't going to break down forever.

The only issue if how long it takes him to get confidence in his body, but being the type of player he is it shouldn't hold him back as much as it has held back others in the past.

I think he'll be right and he'll play a lot of games next year, maybe some this year, the question is how good will he be?

Will take at least 15-20 games to get close to the level he was at IMO.
