How have you gone tipping the Roos games this year? I have found it easy and have 7/7. We are building but the Cats, Hawks and Swans are still in front - I think we will over take the Pies soon. We are clearly better than Port, Bris and the Dogs. Now the margin adds a degree of difficulty.

It may not prove who is more knowledgeable about the game but it will show who has a good handle on where our team is at. In?

nah i dont tip, takes the enjoyment out of neutral games for me. I understand the theory behind it in terms demonstrating an understanding e of the position/capabilities of where the team is at. However picking the exact margin is so hard without knowing what will happen, eg the blues last night huge amount of injuries which had a effect on the game. If wells starts on ground on the weekend, that makes a difference. If picking the margin had a strong relationship with the one variable many people would be making a killing betting on the exact margin - the odds for which are extremely large.

Well this is a great comp for you - no tipping on neutral games!!

I like tipping in neutral games however - why would I look twice at Suns V Demons. Brings interest into a crap contest.

Anyway - I think you roll the dice and play - if you do not like the comp then pull the pin. Nothing to lose but who knows - it may open a whole world of fun for you. It is like the "Sympathy for *Essendon" thread - I 1st looked at that and thought no way am I going to be part of feeling sorry for *Essendon - but I rolled the dice and went in - BEST THREAD EVER.

Nick Lower = The Common Denominator

I know its been brought up before and not to upset you TOD but I just imagine if Lower as a mature defensive midfielder who had been around for 7 or so year, what difference he would of made to our side.

Certainly would have helped when our Midfield was really struggling with the whole defensive accountability thing. Could have also been the tagger we never had. But, yeah, probably much as he was when he was playing - a handy addition to the Midfield rotations.

I view this as a massive contest.

It really is all in our hands. We need to go out and play to the level of the Hawks game take it to them and take it to them early.

This year we have utilised a bang it long and press up hard, I am not sure that will work on Subi. We will need to run the ball a bit more. Wells was probably rested to give us a bit more of that drive.

some of the musings on the board have it that;

• We will break even at the contest
• We probably have an advantage in our forward half (our forwards over their defenders)
• They probably have a slight advantage in their forward half (their forwards over our backs)
• We need to match their outside run. or limit theirs and have some of our boys stand up.
• Speed is where its at for Subi, in their losses there this season it has been their achillies.

I see this going a couple of ways, we get on top and run away with it or we go down in a relatively tight contest.

If its the tight contest it'll be because we have pressured ourselves and missed critical shots

If we run away with it I become very confident that we will make finals and do better in them. Given form lines we have the capability its going to be desire and concentration that get us this result.

If I am completely wrong and we are trounced we are not at the stage I thought we were getting to, and it will probably make me reconsider where we stand on a few other games too.

I'll go with the optimistic, North by about 4 goals
