I think we should do a competition schedule for all the league comps in 2016. Y'know, just bidding, start and end dates (to the estimated month or week)
What do you think

Plenty that I know of.Have there ever been any competitions redesigning club logos? If not, there should.
Thought so. This board's done a lot of stuff.Plenty that I know of.
Thinking of running the CCRC again. First of all, is anyone interested, and secondly does anyone want to recommend any changes to the format?

Cross Code Rugby Competition. Essentially another NAFL but for the other oval ball game
YES! I love pretty much every word of this proposal, hopefully people get behind it.So with the NAFL underway, the third instalment of FIRA due to kick off shortly, and another successful Can-Am season just completed with early plans for the next already underway, my mind has turned to those regions of the globe that have been under-represented in our bigger comps thus far - Central and South America, Africa, and Asia.
Now I know what you're probably all thinking... "But we tried these and they didn't work". Well, we had the Asia 'n Africa League (affectionately dubbed the ANAL) which actually featured some really high quality designs. Its downfall was pretty much solely down to poor management. We also had the Copa America, but it never got off the ground due to lower than desired numbers, though there was some interest there.
These parts of the world offer some tremendous imagery though, and with a few new people around, I'm hopeful that my proposal may be able to gain some traction.
This is what I'm proposing:

Triple A Challenge CupSo... what are peoples thoughts? Is there any interest or am I wasting my time?
Teams from Africa, Asia and the Americas (excluding the US and Canada) compete in a relatively quick-fire, cup style tournament.
Each continental conference will feature 6 teams (for a total of 18 in the tournament), facing off against each other home and away for the group stage. The top two from each group will qualify for the knockout phase, with two "lucky losers" - the two third place finishers with the best records from their respective groups - to join them. These eight teams will engage in a straight knockout series to determine the ultimate champion. Teams will be seeded for the knockout stage based on their group stage records.
The idea behind this competition is that it is not a long, league-style comp. There will be just ten matches for the group stage (at a rate of around two matches per week), with three knockout matches to determine the winner. As such, all that will be required for entry is a home and away kit. Original logos to accompany your designs are encouraged but not mandatory.
As well as the format, there is one other major component to differentiate this competition from the others - no design rules. Well, almost no rules. A number of some sort must be in the usual place on the back, and you will be required to feature the competition logo somewhere on the jumper - but there is no mandatory position. Other than these minor requirements, everything is up to you! You choose if you want sponsors or not, and where to place them. You choose if you want names or not, and where to place them. Manufacturers, club logos, design elements, contrasting kits - all these things are to be used or not used at your discretion. Yes that's right, I don't even care if your away kit clashes with other teams home kits.
I want wild, outlandish designs. I want people to show their creative flair without restriction. I want the imagery and symbolism of these often exotic locations to shine through the designs.

So the fixture is similar to that of the FFL. So all for it.
I reckon we could do one for every continent if we used this format/fixture with smaller groups.
It just feels like you've just placed the three continents in there out of convenience and just to make sure the board has covered the whole world.Yep. The FFL format is perfect for what it is, sitting somewhere between a weekly comp and a league-style comp. This is along similar lines, but with bigger groups to make it go a bit longer, but not too long that its just another league comp.
My main concern with having an individual comp for each continent is that there ends up being a lot of teams to be filled, and I'm not sure of the interest levels based on previous attempts. You're talking 12-16 teams x 3 comps to make them viable, otherwise the comp is too small and over in a couple of weeks. This proposal solves that problem by covering all of the continents with under 20 teams total. If its successful, or one continent is very popular, then it could be expanded/separated down the track.
