Since the NAFL Reserves is getting nearer to the end and I have loads of spare time I wouldn't mind running a rebooted KOTW if there's interest. I've already got a fair bunch of ideas like your team team in 20 years for example. Some weeks would likely be relevant to what's happening, like holiday season and Star Wars this week.

AFL 3rd kit comp? Like the EPL has you need to make a kit that is completely different to the home and away and has to include colours that are not used in their primary scheme (if that makes sense). I have an example here. Just throwing this up. We can make more rules and regulations once we get a basis.

Credit to stormy2 for his design.
Essendon 3rd kit. Uses a base colour that is irrelevant to the normal colour scheme.

I floated something similar in June 2014. It only got two likes, so good luck.
I had this idea coming from the colourful training jumpers.
Random Colour Competition
Imagine turning on your tv and seeing a pink team playing against a yellow team. Now imagine the shock you would get by finding out these two teams were Essendon and Geelong. This is the Random Colour Competition. The rules are:
1)You must keep the general design elements and
2)You must make the random colour the main colour
3)Colours must not have been used in previous jumpers however they can have been used in a training jumper

Klim's idea is totally different imo
My idea was using a base colour not in the scheme. So is Klim's. I was just saying that he might not get the 10 likes.

What were peoples thoughts on the Unlicensed AFL Game comp?

I really liked it. It was something that hadn't really been explored before on this board and had plenty of scope for interesting designs. It was a good challenge to keep the essence of a real team there without using any official names or imagery. Some people went down the basic, simplified design route while others went for more intricate designs that bared little resemblance to the current team but evoked what they were about.

It was an idea first floated by El_Scorcho back in June and run by Fizzler. Only four rounds were run, the last of which was back in November, and no sign of it since. The first round attracted a huge 20 designs, which shows that there was at least a decent level of interest initially, though that dropped right down to 4 for round two, then 5 for each of the next two rounds.

Is this something people would like to see continue? If so, I'd be really keen to run it (if Fizzler is happy for me to do so). Maybe its just me, but I'm starting to feel that this board is becoming too league-style comp focussed, and I'd like to see a few more weekly comps up more regularly. This is one I thought was really good, so would be keen to bring back to life, if people think its worth it.

Obviously can't speak for everyone, but I'm just not interested in weekly comps, and with the low-to-moderate number of entries to most of the weekly comps run recently, it appears I'm not the only one.

Yeah, I haven't really been in the mood to continue it. Next round is St. Kilda. I like the comp and I don't think you need the 10 likes for it to go ahead.

You don't need a like requirement to continue a comp that's previously been run.

I just think that this board has taken a turn towards league-style comps, for better or worse

Clash Set of the Week/Fortnight
First of all, I think it would need to start with a discussion over who actually clashes with who (where 2016 home jumpers aren't confirmed, 2015 versions will be assumed.)
Then, designers will be given the team and will be tasked with creating a set of jumpers that avoids a clash.

Rules/Guidelines
  • Home jumpers are not required
  • You can create a different guernsey for every clash if you like, or just one for all of them
  • At least one Guernsey must be original (I.e you can use Adelaides white clash, and have another original one)

Please ask if you find it unclear, and suggest any changes.

EDIT: I'm thinking a week for entries and a week for poll

FJGD 10 Year Anniversary Competition Gala
February 22 marks 10 years of FJGD, so to celebrate I think that we should open a competition a day from Feb 22 - Feb 29. These would have to be decided by FJGD itself but would be former comps that were popular among FJGD.
I think LogoOTW, Clash Of The Jumpers, Jumper Development OTW, Kit Of The Week would be lock-ins, unless we can come up with others.
Thoughts?

Sarcasm or nah?
Nope

Considering a lot of the posters who made up the bulk of the regulars before my time were signed up around the same time as Gibbsy I just didn't consider that it's been around so long.

I can't even remember a thread being bumped from that long ago.

I bumped one when we reached 100 pages sometime in 2015, but that's about it

You sure Fizzles? I've only been on since July 2006 and I'm pretty sure there was no FJGD board back then. I seem to recall a "Footy Fotoshops" board that I think was where jumper designing originated?
Same board. Check the last page of our board, and the second last page if you want to see the "Fotoshops"

Bryce did when we reached 100 pages, as he mentioned.

Not so much the name of the board itself, but yes inherently it does mark 10 years of the board. Good pick-up Fizz.

For those who are unaware, initially this board was called 'Footy Fotoshops' way back when in 2006 and was first used as a haven of designing in September 2007 when the infamous Kerrby began the "Create an AFL Guernsey" thread (which has since been renamed but still lives on today). InCase's "Kit of the Week" began in April 2009 and was definitely one of the reasons why I signed up to BF. Cory's "Away Guernsey of the Week" followed in August 2009, and by November 2009 the board was moved into the "Australian Football" subsection up the top of the forum, rather than being tucked away (I think under "More Footy"?) near the very bottom.

Bear in mind it was still a subforum of the Footy Videos and Pics board at this stage, but in later years the board outgrew its parent tenfold. Later it became Footy Jumpers and Fotoshops (while still a subforum), then Footy Graphic Design as it encompassed all aspects of footy design culture, before slightly rebranding a couple(?) of years ago by re-adding 'Footy Jumpers' back into the board title.

I think a 10-year jamboree would be pretty awesome. Even try and tag in some of the old members and get them back designing again; vote on old polls etc. A few honour rolls and stuff. Great idea.
