... to Ryan Lonie and Shane O'Bree. Ryan will play his 100th senior game this week, while Cheesy will play his 150th.
Lonie has always been, despite many downward spirals, one of my favourite players to watch. His first season at the club was excellent, missing only one game. I'll still never forget his run against the Doggies at TD through the middle of the ground and bombing the first of his soon-to-be trademark long running goals. A couple weeks later he pulled another one against Essendon on ANZAC Day. But perhaps his finest was THAT run on Queen's Birthday 2003 I think it was, taking three bounces down the middle of the ground and letting rip from 60m.
I think Lonie has turned the corner this season and has proven to be a vital cog in our defence/outer midfield, his aggression towards the ball has stepped up and hopefully he can play another 100 games for the Pies.
O'Bree's first season at Collingwood was also fantastic (dreadlocks and all). He terrorised Carlton from memory in his first match against the Old Enemy. Who could forget his beard in 2002... he and Carl Steinfort made me laugh. Finally he is back to his old form, and not many players are as comfortable as he is at the club kicking with both left and right feet.
Congratulations fellas.
