Would be nice but Allan's draft capital is fading fast.
Not going to make it as a midfielder. Just a spectator at the centre bounces.
Not sure what he brings to the table rather than a link player that racks up meaningless stats.
Doesn't break lines, not a player maker and lacks any X factor.
Looks like he is going to have to reinvent himself in another position if he wants to stay.
Hope i'm wrong ... fingers crossed.
You just opened yourself up to a lot of pain. I agree that he doesn't look ready atm

Tend to agree, but might look a bit more positive if he's playing alongside a couple of genuine mids. There isn't a ball winning clearance player in the VFL team at the moment. It's a bad stoppage team.

Yup agree. To be fair on him without sully/long and Steene struggling in the ruck (good around the around) does make it hard for Allan

I've forgotten his name, but what happened to that back pocket competitive beast who played for us last year. Couldn't kick but cracked in really hard - reminded me of Kerrison. Big biceps - I think he had tatts?
Cooper Macdonald. He's still with us. Just a tough backline to crack into atm.

Haven’t been sold on a couple of the previous extensions but these 3 def deserve them
definitely. You see all three play and know they have the tools to make it.
Cochran the way he moves, athletic traits.
Hayes has the pace and x factor
Westy just everything we want in a key forward.

Reckon last years draft we got three beauties.

They've got clear weapons that they're already transferring into VFL. I wouldn't see extensions as a risk, as even if they take a while or don't end up making it, they're going to get 4 years in the system.

Having not many Injuries Help
Not just that. We actually have a good vfl list to the point there have been some unlucky players not selected.
5 out of the 7 top disposals were vfl players (Glover, Browne, Algeri, Wilson, Mahoney)
Mahoney (Harry that is), Browne, Hude all kicked multiple goals.

I'm not really an Allan fan, but I do think that you're being a bit harsh on the handballing - the seniors - including Nick and Pendles all do that blind forward searcher at times under pressure - it is too much of a go to for Allan though.

Allan seems to lack power in his hand balling. A lot fall well short of the mark and even his better efforts are at the feet of the receiver. Should be a focus in his training.

Coxy's first half was awful, but he was really dominant when he rucked in the second half and got us back into the stoppage game. Steene was very good in general play though.

I thought Cox going into the ruck in the 1st quarter turned the momentum our way.

Took an overhead contested mark last night. Can’t remember him taking too many of those before. Baby steps.

Having HDM in the bests is awfully generous. He had alright counting stats sure. But watching the game he lacked urgency and at least 3 times handballed directly to a teammate with a Bomber right next to them. Still early days I suppose but much rather another Schultz/Houston type in the side than a speculative player whose only redeeming quality is that he’s young.

Just goes on Fantasy Rankings I think

Looked disinterested for much of it, but stood up when the game was on the line.
Yep, just seemed to be playing for free kicks as a 'stand under the high bal'l forward, Wasnt even looking to launch into space. At half time I was thinking if he really is worth promoting next week.
Looking forward to the return of Dan Mc, I'm not that keen on him doing minutes as the back up ruck option post an MCL injury. Going to be really interesting how we manage ruck minutes for the rest of the year though Cox will get significant ruck time when he is in the 23. Cameron isnt the worst at spending a few minutes fwd either, could disrupt oppo defences.
Excellent mark and kick, clever enough to find space and lose his opponent on a changeover with Cox.
Long could do minutes here and there as he did on Friday, gives you that genuine extra mid at clearances but its a big ask on him.

Don't care that Smit doesn't look good in defence. VFL is about development. They're trying him in a new position, either as a permanent change or to add to his game. They'll give him time.

Jiath moves so well, very hard to think he won't make it in the AFL at some point. Will come when his contest work and tank is good enough.

West was good with the opportunities he had. Shows nice touch and mobility outside of marking, which is a great sign, not one dimensional.
For how a lot wanted Begg moved to defence only for that move to never eventuate whilst Smit goes there unexpected.

Allan, HDM and Ryan also have "weapons" that have seen them get extensions. They're just not weapons that people get excited about. Mostly running capacity.
