Phillips won't ever become a top 3 mid but if everything goes right, he will be a good enabler in that him cementing a spot at the centre would enable the other more attacking players to fully ply their crafts thus maximising the total output of the team.

When the team output reaches a critical mass, then you go to the next level.

IDK if i'm out of line, but isn't this thread just for announcements not analysis and opinions?

Not out of line. It’s really up to people to decide what the discussion is.

The announcement and tracking of contracts is fundamental to the chat - the chat or lack there of is up to the mob!

Does there have to be 3 changes? It’s going to be pretty stiff for some players.

I guess Liz McGrath goes for more opportunities and probably Lucy Burke too.

We need to sign Mia King ASAP.
Mia King actually re-signed until 2026.

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos young gun Mia King is the latest Roo to put pen to paper, signing a three-year contract extension to remain at the club until at least the end of 2026.
Hailing from Launceston, King has played 47 games since she arrived at Arden Street ahead of the 2020 season.
Despite being one of the youngest members of the Kangaroos’ engine room, the 22-year-old helps set the tone in the middle of the ground for her more experienced teammates with her hard tackling and relentless pressure.
Running alongside the likes of Jasmine Garner, Ash Riddell and Jenna Bruton, King has averaged more than 20 disposals in 2023 and finished the home-and-away season equal fifth in the competition for tackles (87) – including 10-plus on five occasions – despite missing Round 10.
Her standout performance came in Round 3 against Geelong, where she notched up 25 disposals, 13 tackles, eight clearances and a whopping 83.8 pressure points to steer the Roos to a come-from-behind nine-point victory.

"We are rapt to have an emerging talent like Mia re-sign with the club for three more years," North Melbourne AFLW List Manager Flynn Loft said.
"Mia has taken her game to another level this season with her constant pressure and competitive nature, winning more of the ball and often leading the tackle count each week for the side.
"We look forward to watching her evolve into one of the star midfielders of the competition over the next few years."
King joins teammates Jasmine Ferguson, Erika O’Shea, Eliza Shannon and Ruby Tripodi as one of five Roos to re-sign with the club this month.

Signor Rawlings needs to get his Bic ball point pen out & sign every God damn player on our list to at least 2028. That's when our window will be wide open like the proverbial. After 5 years with the wilderbeasts, we can't afford teams to come in with a blank look and steal the kids we've pumped games into.

I get there may be a celery cap squeeze but I'm sure the guys will realise that a little pay cut to experience sustained success will be more than worth it.

Assuming no startling changes to current trajectories, would go with these by year's end (added years to current deals):

LDU +6
Corr +2
CCJ +1 conditional on recovery
Goater +1-2
Ford +1
Maley +1
Konstanty +2
Hansen +2
Wardlaw +2-3
McKercher +4
Duursma +2
FOS +2 with view to upgrade to +5 if improvement rapid, a la Sheezel

Others all more TBC.

Good grief. If he plays most of the rest of the season, I would’ve considered that a little on the short side myself.
He already has 2026 so this would be a roll over.

His injuries are a concern. If he cracks less than 10 games this year would be going 2 years because of his talent level.

10+ then 3 years+.

Giving him 4 years on top of 2026 if he continues to break down is a bit too risky Imo.
