Starcevich getting subbed out again for concussion, might be the best thing for us. Is it too late to amend our offer to him?

He may be forced to retire after this game anyway - we may have dodged a bullet
It sux. Like McGov, I highly rate him but we would be idiots to take that risk. At least for a decent pick/wage. Watch us give him 4 yrs plus at a high wage though.

We still have to pay someone. I don't think the Starcevich deal will be off. It would be nice if we a little harder on Lachie Neale though. How good would he be for Harley, Elijah, pick 1 and pick 2.

Brisbane will be happy to offload him. We need to play hardball with what we offer.
Both contract and trade. Pay the dollars but not the years.

2nd rounder or worse. And a 2 yr contract max. It may not be enough to get him though but I dont care. Brissy may be excited by that offer though.

And I thought this before he was once again subbed out with concussion
Sad though. Was hoping we would draft him at a lower cost and he might get through a few valuable years for us.

Horrible for Starcevich, really feel for him. Eagles have to pull the deal pending concussion panel assessment but on precedent there’s no way it gets done before trade period.

Brisbane have to do the same unless they want to offer him a one year deal which would be entirely removed from the cap if he was medically retired.

Hope he’s ok.

Just on Lachie Neale, and the unlikely scenario that he is contemplating a move to us.

I see a lot of posters suggesting that a Lions win today makes it more likely that he packs up and heads west...Would this actually be the case though? If they win, you'd think he'd be confident in loading up again next year and trying for the three-peat. If they lose, well you've got the prospect of climbing that mountain to the top all over again.

No idea what he'd be thinking, but if it were me and a three-peat was on the cards I'd be sticking around to try and be a part of that. If I lost, I'd be more likely to leave and start anew. Just my take.
Maybe Starcevich could be thinking the same thing after this...
Don't think he's an absolute need, and especially not at almost a million a year.

I was pessimistic about Starcveich when he was subbed but he seems fine on the bench. They may have just been really precautionary given his history but in any event, its something we have to deal with if we take him. I'll still take him as we are desperate af but on an games/played incentive type deal.

He had 2 to 3 months off during the year and they questioned whether he would ever play again. Now another concussion from a nothing knock. I would pay him per game and nothing else, if we traded for him.
