J Williams is currently miles in front of both Barnett and Livingstone. Bailey should be traded out before Jack.

He want’s to be here, has shown gradual improvement over time, just kicked 3 goals last night.

Would be mad to get rid of him unless it was for overs.

Not only that, but Waterman is already 27 years old. Will be at the end of his current deal just as JW is hitting his prime at 25 years old.

We are spoilt for tall forwards, but we still have no KPD's.

There is every chance one of Reid/Shanahan move down back for a few years and JW has a spot in the 23 as third KPF/2nd ruck.

We would have to be given a good trade to part with JW, and 30 year old rucks don't fit the bill.

We may have found Matt Clarke's BigFooty account

Matt Clarke didnt have hair on his balls when I started posting on here dick.

Just saying.;)

Others have posted about Jack's limitations previously.

Anyway, sounds like a lot of you rate J Williams more highly than the other talls coming through fighting for that spot.

IMO Jack is coming along as a good solid role player 3rd kp fwd and 2nd ruck. Not our saviour for the next time we contend.

If you want to dream otherwise. Go for it.

I think most people would agree on the bolded part, and majority would have Reid and Shanahan ahead in their longer term projections.

That doesn't change the overall dynamic. Assuming Oscar leaves, Waterman is 28 by the start of next season, and Gov is 34.

Shanahan could be lining up in our backline and we could have Waterman, Reid, JW up forward for 3 years with the option of moving Shanahan forward if/when that happens.

Word is Pies keen on Jack Williams Id suggest as a Cox replacement.

So a 2nd plus Jack is about right. Baily also a chance if we trade in Cameron.

If we can turn Jack and Baily Williams into Cameron thats not a bad outcome IMO.

Cameron, Flynn and Barnett our 1st rucks.

Archer our forward / ruck.

Shanahan comes in for Oscar.
My guy, what the **** are you smoking

D. Cameron is worth an early second round pick at best. Good ruck, but close to retirement.

Anyone suggesting we trade J Will has rocks in their head. Ideally we wait out the year, Flynn comes on as #1, Williams has cemented #2 (if he hasn't already) and if anyone gets traded its Bailey. Yes we're thin in the ruck but you don't solve that problem by trading out one of our best tall prospects for 2-3 years of D. Cameron.

Love watching J.Will, one of our best young players.

I know its been said here before, but so far its looking like we absolutely NAILED last years draft.

Very encouraging signs from every one of them so far. And just as well, too...lord knows we needed some good young players.

Davis vs Boxshall will be an interesting watch over the years. So far, i'm not upset about ending up with Davis in the slightest

Fred Rodriguez has to be under consideration for our first pick. His skill is first class some of the best kicks inside 50 you will see

He was very impressive this morning, he just works so hard.

29 disposals ( 15 kicks, 14 hand passes ), 3 marks, 5 tackles, 7 inside 50's , 1 goal.

  • His second and third efforts are really good.
  • Has elite vision and decision making.
  • Elite footskills either side of his body.
  • By God he knows how to find his own footy.
  • Tremendous player for linking up play with his run and carry, which also brings others of his team mates into the game.

I love all these attributes that he possesses, however the additional one that I think he is exceptional at, is his knowing where to go to on the ground, to get to his next play evolvement.
This is a result of running patterns, a decent tanks, footy smarts and being able to read the play so very well.

Is he going to be the most skillfull mid available maybe !?! , maybe not, however is he going to be the highest footy IQ mid and most effective mid - probably yes.

His link up playing style, would complement our current young developing mids very nicely :

H Reid
Gross
Hall
Hewett
Grego
Long
Hutchinson

With the conjecture about Cameron, I hope we have made a competitive and generous play for Tom De Koning.

Him and one of Greeves/ Sharp (depending who is better come draft) would round out our midfield nicely.

What's his contested game like? Or is he mostly an outside player

Draft C Curtin

Shanahan

Barnett

Livingstone.

Curtin Snr traded in a year or two.

Cameron and Flynn.

We wouldn't be short of options. That's why some of them likely move.

Barnett and Livingstone are highly unlikely to ever be AFL standard and Archer Reid's goal kicking is shit. He's best off moved to defence.

Edwards is so unbelievably slow that he just isn't the answer and Gov has a max of 2 years left.

The club needs Jack Williams to pair with Shanahan and Waterman.

Absolutely no guarantee that the club gets Cody Curtin or that Dan wants to ever come back either.

If you're chasing a KPD this year either trade or draft who should we be going after?

Very good inside player, he gets and wins his own ball at the coalface, the bonus is that being a balanced mid, he is also very dangerous on the outside.

Im just joining rumour dots here BTW.

Cameron reported interested in coming home.

Mason Cox close to the end.

Rumour that Collingwood are intereated in Jack Williams.

Could a trade involving these two players unfold? Potentially yes.

Id be ok either way TBH. Who Dares Wins. Its a risk sure but a Flynn / Cameron ruck duo changes a hell of a lot for our best 22 and set ups. Wkith some injury luck we could go from impotent to much more pro-active in the ruck and around stoppages.

That helps attract, retain talent plus boosts develop our mids and clearance games.

It is called the ruck merry go round for a reason.

Rumour where?

There's no mention or discussion of Jack Williams to Collingwood anywhere on BigFooty. Apart from here, today.
