Maybe not Curtin at 15 but I like it.
Perhaps Marsh at 9? then the WA boys Rodriguez and Farrow at 13 and 15
I feel farrow will be the big riser . Has elete kicking off the half back flank and once he kills the combine he will be on the cusp of the top 10 .

Pick 13 and 15 for Rodriguez and Curtin seem right when they end up being picks 20 and 22 .

We need another tall forward and one that can ruck a bit too .

Wouldn't put it past Adelaide to pick Ccurtin to pair with his brother

End up with 2 inside mids in sharpe Rodriguez
1 Athletic HFF/mid with elite kicking cumming
1 Athletic HBF/mid with elite kicking
Farrow
1 KPF/2nd ruck Curtin

Then hopefully we fill the speedy small forward roles with NGAs

If there was no academy restrictions i would take anabelle over both duursma and sharpe . Also patterson top 5 .

Just on duursma essendon are very keen on him and would need pick 1 they are also keen on prying his brother out of norf who isn't very happy there apparently.

If we could somehow work out a trade where essendon get both duursma's

Wce out pick 1
for pick 5 + 24 + 28

Ess out pick 5 + 8 + 24 + 28
For 1 + 38 + Zduursma

Nth out Zduursma + 38
For pick 8

We then package up our 2nd and hawks 2nd which would be pick 21 and 30 with 24 + 28 + Ryan(salary included) and no bids patterson Undwin
To GC for pick 9 + 15

2 sharpe
4 Cumming
9 farrow
13 Rodriguez
15 Curtin
I see what you have tried to do, but in a shallow top end of the draft if a club wants picks 1 or 2 they need to pay big overs.
I can see WC trading up for a better pick with Hawks 1st if there is a target they want.

Prior has had a pretty good year as a back man… 82% kicking efficiency and one we should have got last year… would be an upgrade on what we have

Article in the West today saying Dewar to defense looks like a permanent move.

That would be the rebounding attacking half back role.

Hough recal mentioned he is not certain to remain in the midfield and may return to defense.

Bo Allen Def / Mid simikar to Ginbey.

And we found a gem with McCarthy.

Duggan and Cole plus a handy lock down defender in the NGA group.

Pick 24 + 28 is the equivalent of pick 12 in the new points table .

So pick 1 for 5 + 12

But yeah I get your point and would hope we get better .

Essendon should get pick 21 for draiper

1 for 5 + 21 + 24

I read an article the other day about buku karmis , he might want a change of scenery after being dropped once or twice this year. Would he add much to our list?

Yeah I really want Farrow, as Lindsay seems to be sitting in a really awkward pick range for us.

If it turned out as you describe id be pretty happy

Might rule out any pursuit of Lindsay, and lowers the chances we are likely for McVee/Starcevich?

Certainly indicates we have quite a few options in defense. And where we may invest our top picks or mature trades elsewhere on the ground.

Hough playing defense right now v Crows and looking AA quality. He is very good behind the ball.

Feel Richmond will go Lindsay and CDT.

They bought in 3 mids last off season and a bunch of talls

CDT will replace nankervis perfectly

Adding an elite user in Lindsay who could also be a future captain seems a no brainer .

Not going to lie Richmond have killed it

Would love the Tigers to pick those two.

Richmond's kids havent proved much at all to date.

Their senior players have stood up where ours didnt.

Thats the difference so far.

Traded out a heap of seniors and used the picks but retained seniors who stayed fit and could contribute.

Eagles havent even used the 2025 Barrass trade picks yet, are about to lose Allen and get pick 2. So by the end of this trade and draft period Eagles will have converted a similar number of senior players into top picks. And this draft will spend some pretty decent draft capital to catch up.

But will we??? I reckon it's a pipe dream, as our team will be barking up another tree.
If we only managed to bring in Davies and no one else via trade I’d still consider it a successful trade period. Surely our #1 target. Buss getting subbed again would have pissed him off to no end as well.

Richmond took 4 KPP’s before Shanahan 🤣

Trainior have been very good and faull looks very athletic for a big guy .

Picking sims over shanahan doesn't look good at this stage but it's only their first year .

People were saying thrillthorpe was a bust after taking a few years to come on so 🤷
So it’s to early to say they ****ed up by skipping Shanahan 7 times but not too early to say they nailed it?

Interesting take.

Yep, let's give away our draft picks and any top end talent. Who needs to rebuild, we can stay perennial wooden spooners. FFS

We picked Archer over Morris 🤷

Will Morris always be better than Archer

You talk like shanahan is a guarantee.

He played well today but after 7 games he has kicked 9 goals average just under 8 possessions and 4 marks. He is going alright he has some nice attributes

But no guarantees in football.

Jaeger o'meara was touted as good as Harley reid pre draft and his first 2 years were close to as good as anyone's has been .

He then ****ed his knee and was never the same player .

People need to temper their expectations

I already have Shanahan for the 2027 coleman
Archer for 2028

If McCarthy keeps doing what hes doing, what does that mean for our list build going forward? Especially if he stays in the midfield?

Lets assume he makes it as an outside/transition mid.
Do we shift from drafting basically exclusively mids with first round picks this year to targeting Lindsay/Farrow more to be that distributor off half back? We dont really have anybody else to do it
