Pick 33 will get us Curtin farrow and lindsay gone by 13 .

It last year all over again we wait and see what scraps are left .

Would have been a much better idea to give Brisbane 22 and take 16 23 ryan and go for pick 8
33 might’ve got bidded out of existence if one of our NGAs got a bid before then which some say Williams will.

That'd be great! All have excellent attributes. I reckon we'll take Dovaston.
I thought last year with pick 15 or whatever we had, we were just outside the strike zone of getting a good player. This year, 12 is right on the line. If we take Sharp at 2, and then Greeves is the slider, it's not ideal. You wouldn't take Greeves if you had Sharp in your pocket.

Good trade in my books.

Quite a few folks seem to think they could hypnotise other clubs into selling their farm

We're off and running now.

Get Ryan and Chesser done now.

1, 2, 12 a strong hand for us.

1 is a live option for me for a trade for something like 5, 21, 30.

Then flip 30, 34, 37 into 18.

Wind up with 2, 5, 12, 18 and 21.....

The "problem" is others feel those picks could've been better used elsewhere.

Like Fivey said, we had a lot of leverage here and came out of it in a very meh situation. Helped others get what they want.

Is it awful? No. Is it good? Also no.
I feel with Greg Swan the ex CEO of Brisbane and now AFL adjudicator of 'fairness' being the person needing to massage Allen's compo to band 1 we needed to keep Brisbane happy .

After all he could of just allowed us to get starc as a free agent without effecting compo but he put that pick in our hands for Brisbane obviously.

After we get pick 2 we just bid on Annabelle pick 1 to stick it up them and be done with these campaigners

If he wants to play for us then why did he go to the draft combine and put himself in the shop window for other clubs to browse?

If the eagles have guaranteed to take you and thats the club you want to be drafted by then just say No to going to combine.

And we should have hinted to him that maybe it's not in his best interests to go to the combine. But we are such a bunch of woketard rule followers now that we would have done nothing to discourage his participation in case we get told off for breaking the rules and saying something we are not supposed to.

You’re the one who conditioned the pick based on them being a mid.

I dint subscribe to such a prescriptive view.

Farrow and Grlj are bolting based off combination of results in back end of the season and combine results, while sharp is sliding.

when EV was lauding sharp as the nominal number 1 pick back in April, I was able to see pretty clearly that he would slide.

And I think at least one, possibly both farrow and Grlj will likely be off the board before sharp on draft night.

Happy to revisit this on draft night if you’d like?
For my 2 cents:
Farrow to be a really good player all said and done. I think will be a top 10 lock to somebody.
Grlj will be a slightly better Petrucelle MK-2. All flash and no substance.

So a neutral result 1st trade.

Lets see how Clarke goes with Young. Tigers took him to the cleaners last year, has he learnt?
I'd say it's still a win - pick 12 is better than 16 in a shitty shallow draft & Starc walks into our B22 and becomes one of our best players.

An even trade - in that it's fair for all parties. But still a win.

Isn't the combine invite only?
(I may be completely wrong).

Possibly he was invited.
Fantastic experience and opportunity
1 in a lifetime opportunity
Networking, bonding etc.

**** knows, hundreds of reasons

What sort of comment is this? As a young up and coming player if you get invited to the combine, you'd be a ****ing moron not to go.

Edit: And I just noticed you actually said 'woketard'. My god you're embarassing.

Encouraging a teenaged kid to go to a footy combine that he was invited to is woke? 😂😂😂🥴🥴🥴

He has a point now we will have to match a much earlier bid than before the combine

Some of your takes are mind boggling.

The kid is just desperate to get drafted. Putting himself in the shop window is exactly what he should do, it was his moment to shine.

Did Brisbane ask the Ashcroft boys to tank there draft year? Did Collingwood ask Dacios? Did the Bulldogs ask Sam Darcy?

Kids just want to get drafted and in this case it’s even better because he would love to play for the club if it thinks he’s worth matching a bid on.

Why does everything have to be thought of in such a selfish manner? This is a teenage kid hoping to do whatever he can to jumpstart a potential dream career in the AFL, and we're saying he should arrogantly play silly games to help West Coast out?

Like who the **** do we think we are?
