In:
  • Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
  • Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
  • Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane
Out:
  • Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
  • Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
  • Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41

2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Pretty much sums it up.

West Coast continues to think it is somehow smarter than the rest of the competition, when all it is doing is telegraphing its intentions, making it so very easy for opponents to take advantage.

The club should never have showed any public commitment or interest in B.Starcevich until all dealings concerning O.Allen free agency were concluded.
Hard to disagree with that. Pyke himself making strong statements “we really really rate Starcevich as an elite player and he’s exactly the type of player we are looking at bringing in and have offered a deal accordingly”

Words to that affect anyway

Yep totally. Both he and Starcevich should be easy deals done in good faith. Brisbane can f*ck right off as far as I'm concerned.
What really gets me is the entitlement.

Youre already getting another top 5 pick after winning back to back flags and now you’re trying to screw over a one win team for the sake of a pick upgrade 10-20 spots in the late first/second, which will probably get used up in a bid anyway, especially if you make it hostile (we hold the maximum bid).

Us not bidding on Annable at 1 is worth the difference in picks already. Genuinely baffling at the hold up here. If they screw us over we just bid on their player and no one wins.

We should 100% bid on Annable. Zero risk for us because he'd be an ideal pick up if Brisbane don't match.

Agreed. Shame on the afl for letting these nepo babies get away with so much.

Really wish we got the FA exemption instead of the pick.

Tim Lamb at Melbourne gave away nothing. Seemed really pissed off that Judd McVee was leaving
Is there a world where we try to trade 1 or 2 to Melbourne for their future first? They get a guaranteed shot at CDT. We get a likely top 3 pick to go with our own likely top 3 pick next year. It would be kicking the can down the road but the 2026 draft appears to be rated higher than the 2025 class.

As if he’s going to say anything remotely like that to the media, deadset you’re a ****ing clown!

You obviously aren’t listening to the other list managers are you? Or aware that every other major FA deal has been done.

Just one prick holding up Oscar after putting his balls on the line, which I’m sure you can relate to.

Is he worth 7?
7 is definitely overs for Flanders. A part of me would like to see the Suns fleece someone for once after years of being fleeced themselves.

Feel like Adelaide need to find a 2nd for Brisbane for Ah Chee. That 2nd comes our way for pick 16 with Starc.

We use that 2nd and 22 / 23 to get up to 7.

Hell I'd try and get Adelaides pick 15 with our 2 / 3rd rounders.

Agreed of course - but I assume Brisbane are refusing.

They are using the potential pick 2 we will net to get a better pick for Starc
The only way Brisbane get OA + Annable is band 1.

If both end up in ND they will have to choose which one they want. Alternatively they need to trade if we match a band 2 offer and lose their Annable points.

I get what they are doing, but ideally we publicly call their bluff re having any leverage here.

“a bit more to play out”
Oh god. He’s going to pay more than 23. What a goose. Potentially 23 plus a f3?

Pick 16 isn’t really an option “at this stage/ideally”
Hopefully "a bit more to play out" is a reminder to Brisbane that they wouldn't receive anything for Starcevich if he went to another club or to us via the PSD
