Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

James Hird was on trade radio this morning explaining Bombers will have 4 x top 10 picks courtesy Draper FA and Merrett trade, and with already a very young list, are well on their way to rebuilding.

:moustache:

Maybe should have looked into the long cognitive term effects of Thymosin beta-4.

Yeah, doesn't really work like that. Plus they'd be inclined to squib the picks too.

Another WCE NGA to keep an eye on is Subiaco's speedster Kyan Perera. (2026 draft)

Possibly the fastest player in WAFL colts right now.

He has only just burst on to the Colts scene so not many have cottoned on to him yet.

He's also very good at cricket however, so he has a choice to make.

Not surprising when you consider that his dad Suresh Perera played international cricket for Sri Lanka before migrating here.

Nah I reckon it's only a small subset of the board that gets upset over missing out on the likes of Bont, Neale and Tracc, who you quite rightly point out we were never getting.

The majority melt at what is perceived to be excessive contracts for middling players, overpaying at the trade table, pissing away top 5 picks, and therefore ignoring list needs for half back flankers.
Getting fleeced every year at the trade table is my biggest melt .

Example owies

Carlton weren't offering him a contract and if we had of picked him up with a future 5th or as a DFA he doesn't get the shit he does .

Carlton has been awarded Pick 19, band 2, as compensation for losing Jack Silvagni.

Someone posted earlier in the week that PSD is a no go for Starcevich, he'd have to nominated for the ND. But I believe he could nominate his required contract when nominating for the draft, so the risk of someone else drafting him would be practically nil.

Ordinarily I wouldn't mind trading the compo pick for Starcevich, concussion aside I think that's about his worth. But as it is, it just seems like such a rort. The back-to-back premiers get Allen & Draper for free, Annable for some late picks AND pick 19 for Starcevich. Its highly unlikely they'd be able to match our contract offer to Starcevich and are probably glad he's leaving as it saves them having to push a senior player out.

I'd love to see us 'Hawthorn' Brisbane, trade away 15, 19 & 20 for pick upgrades and offer them a choice between our R2 or our F2.
I think the no PSD what guys are talking about is if a player goes through free agency and bid gets matched . Then you can only go through the national draft

If starcivich doesn't nominate as a free agent it's the same rules as normal

I spoke to the family a short while ago at a game. Prefers cricket at this stage.

His job is literally to balance and manage the list by bringing in players as cheaply as possible and selling players for the highest price possible.

Baker wanted to come regardless, it was Clarke’s job to pay as little as possible or even a fair price. Especially with his Richmond contacts.

I haven’t reassessed his ability since he publicly blurted out what he was prepared to pay for Baker but nothing since that moment has changed to make me think he’s even the 17th best list manager in the competition.

I will mercifully await Keys’ retrospective trade thread to discuss his failures, there will be more than enough prospective ones to discuss here.
Isn't there a game in the shadows between the clubs and player managers?
Keep em happy or no one is headed to your club. I'm sure no one is actually stupid enough to lowball themselves right?

Hope we talk to him!
Yeah apparently no one has asked the question really yet. Gettable saying this public statement might help change that. Does he come west? Doubt it but would be a nice get.

First touch/defensive mids- Steele/Dev
X factor mids- Harley/Hewett
Link running mids- McCarthy

Yeo a bit of both types

The rumour goes and it's from the Freo board that Fremantle got really pissy at Colin Young after a couple of players wanting out and that ever since Colin Young has actively told players not to go to Freo / Tank interviews etc.

Steele's another one where if you push him out of the guts, where does he play? He's a tackling and contested ball machine, I don't think he's a type where you can slot him in at half back or half forward and he'll do a lot of positive things. He'll just be an overpaid guy playing mediocre football at a position that does not suit his talents.

True but we need a big body in there for a couple of years so he would be a perfect option.

we have enough cash spend it

Wouldn’t surprise me CY has always been a sleazy, slimy prick.

He also feeds info to the media and like to have his players contract negotiations done through the media.
