Just looked him up. Highest possession count at colts level is 16 touches.

not sure that will translate to being a possession winner at higher levels

His sidestepping and poise is amazing . I havent seen a more impressive highlight display of an 18 yr old . He must have fitness or some other issue as you say .

Yes, fitness is what is limiting him. I have no doubt that if he had any decent level of running capacity he would have been taken last year.

He currently weighs 10kg more than L.Ryan despite being 2cm shorter.

The encouraging sign is that with Peel not having the Fremantle players available to top them up this year, he was one of those who were forced to play in the midfield and he showed that he is capable, despite his current lack of endurance.

His penultimate game this year against Swans was a BOG performance, on just 16 possessions.

In his final match against East Perth, every one of his 15 possessions were contested. If he can improve his fitness and start to get some outside possession, those 15 touches will quickly turn into 20 and 25 touches and then you have an exceptionally damaging player.

I think now we HAVE to target Clark now with Smith getting a gig at Geelong on the wing.

Trade radio seem to think Freo are the ones to get him.

I would a 100% trade Brander for Clark who wants to play on a wing and could give us that speed we need in the midfield.

Both sides cant afford his salary. As put to bed as you are going to get

So the Hickey trade article in the West today.

Could be white noise but I like the heading. Swans pushing to convince the Eagles to trade.

I really hope we take advantage of this ruck supply v demand situation. Swans pick 22 is what we want, that can be turned into a very solid mid for the next 10 years.

Continue drafting the best available ruck / ruck forwards around late 2nd early 3rd rounds, develop them and trade them later to upgrade future picks. We seem to be pretty decent at it.

Getting pick 22 would also give us some flexibility to trade into the (late) 1st round. Taking a 1st this year (which might end up around the 22 mark anyway - and provided there is a player we want there) would give us some flexibility with our draft/trade hand in 2021.

West coast could easily afford his Salary.

He wouldn't be asking for too much for the first year and we will have a lot of cap next year when Hurn & JK retire. Jetta would also been on decent coin.

Freo said they cant afford his salary meaning neither could we. He is on a new contract and not his rookie one

This kid from Bunbury . Liam Ryans cousin . Why is there no talk about him ?

Great mover in heavy traffic but some of his disposal by foot looks a bit iffy. I like how the highlights cut out when he’s disposed of the footy but you don’t see whether it hit its target or was to a teammate’s advantage. The elite AFL teams thrive on scores from turnover.

Looks to be a natural right footer. Good to see he’s comfortable going onto his non-preferred left but that ball drop when he does is Braydenesque to say the least.

Hopefully he hasn't got his finger caught in a gate and his ball drop can be fixed

Even if they move Hogan on?

I guess they’ll probably be paying some of his salary.

To be fair to Damo, I tend to agree that we are pretty light on for young talent (primarily young midfield talent) and it will take good list management to ensure we stay up. We are definitely capable of doing so, but my confidence in that side of the club isn't at its highest right now.

Say he is asking for 400-500k i think we could easily fit him in.

As i said we will have a lot of cash free next year so at first he doesn't earn as much in his first year.

Then you have Hutchings & Jetta who in total could easily be 500k a year so there are two players you could sacrifice is need be.

IF there is talk of us trying for Cripps next year then we a 100% have money lying around.

WC are very good at the way they handle their salary cap.

The coach has made his decision and yep he is gone.

Its Longmuire stamping his authority straight up. Setting the bar higher and shipping out a high profile player for good reason.

Bloody Freo may be getting their sh!t together  .
Getting rid of Hogan will take them a step backwards IMO.

They almost played finals this season. If they can get Hogan on the park kicking 4 goals like he did a few weeks ago then all of a sudden they're dangerous.

They wouldn't be getting rid of him if he was an asset to their club.

If Hutch is on $500k I give up.

It seems crazy to me though- they invest SO MUCH into getting him and now they're trying to get rid of him.

He had some mental health challenges and invited a girl to his hotel during quarantine. Is that really a reason to boot him out of the club? He was impressive in his last games this season I thought.

I would've thought given everything they paid, and the fact he's only 25 would warrant a level of persistence.

They already went backwards, could have had a King brother at FF for 10 years.

Good move by Freo to ship him off and keep the boys who reach the standards needed,.
