Story goes that the Corbys have been doing this for years, and they usually leave a bribe inside the boogie board for the customs officer to take and wave them through. I've heard around the traps (who knows) that this was the the first and only time that the brother accompanied the sisters on one of their "pot runs" and swiped the cash for himself. Upon seeing no bribe, customs got aggrieved and pinched them for smuggling. Schapelle copped the whack because she admitted it was her boogie board

In this case, Howard had only two years earlier privatized the airport, handing the keys to his close buddy Moore-Wilton. It was hugely controversial, with allegations of nepotism, and various security issues, due to the entrenchment of corrupt staff (MANY of them).

All this is well documented. The last thing Ellison and Howard needed was for focus on this politically dynamic shambles. Equally with respect to the US: just 3 years post-911, Australia was horribly exposed.

Then there were the financial interests in Indonesia (by Liberals), and the delicate international relationship, a strategic one.

Yes, guilty as hell, she was knowingly involved in an illegal enterprise and got caught, you take the risks, you deal with the consequences. The possibility that they botched the bribe doesn't make her any less guilty.

There are some interesting points on this site and many of them are worth discussing.

One thing however is the crime board tries not to be a political zone, this is not to say political pressure cannot be discussed if it is documented but due to the nature of the boards intent we don't want to see a slanging match between right/left etc.

So yes this means we take a higher standard of requesting referenced materiel to continue that part of the discussion. on the website you provided John in it's Library does it specifically have any material in relation to the protection of the airport from political dealings.

If it does not I'm requesting this thread at this point does not go down that road. This does not mean there are many salient facts presented in that site that should be discussed that are relevant to Corby's guilt/innocence or any where in between in proving it.

The first of which is intriguing to me and I don't know is the availability of locally grown marijuana in Bali and how much it costs.

If the claims in this site are correct that it is very cheap and it's inference prevalent than what would be the motive to ship in 4 kilo's of the Australian product in through air travel.

I'd be particularly concerned that some of the material regarding Mark Trowell is libellous. The suggestion is that a QC was acting as a political agent to subvert a criminal trial.
