Is it just me, or were the media at the time basially acting as though she were innocent? Rennae Lawrence and her cronies certainly weren't afforded that view point. I guess she looks like a lezzo and some of the other blokes were Asian. They weren't lovely pretty girls like Corby the drug trafficker.
The worst thing that happened though was sgitting down the Schsppelle parody twitter, because there are some farksticks out there who support criminals and they cried.

I think the media were initially guilty of representing Corby to their readers/listeners as the "pretty girl hard done by". It took some longer than others to move on from that.

You mentioned Lawrence. I have no sympathy for where she finds herself, but I can't help wondering if she is being set-up at the present time with these claims she was planning to kill a warden. The evidence we are hearing just looks all too convenient??

It was a family business.......She just took the fall for it. Her family runs a drug store in Bali and her brother just got held up on cocaine charges.

The whole idea of some sophisticated international smuggling conspiracy wasting their time exporting pot from Australia to Bali seems absurd to me. If such a network was in place they would be smuggling high level narcotics or other high value items into Australia. Bulk amounts of low level drugs like pot indicate to me an unsophisticated conspiracy, like a family of bogan petty criminals.

Not the case, The big cartels actually make most of the majority of their profit through pot.

Why risk 20 years in jail to smuggle a low cash return drug such as marijuana into Bali?
